Lakehouse Foundation

Art Impressions has recently released a bunch of products that are great for masculine cards, so to make my Dad a Father's Day card, I pulled out 6065 - Lakehouse Foundation.

I stamped it using Shadow Gray Archival ink from Ranger onto my Canson XL watercolour paper, then painted it using my Tombows.  I sewed the finished painting onto some warm brown cardstock with my sewing machine, then adhered it to my cardbase that was created with two patterns from the 6072 - Father's Day paperpack.

On the inside of my card, I used the 5927 - Father's Day Die Set cut from the same warm brown.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers out there!  I put this together for my husband tonight, using old and new products, and mixing all kinds of companies together:

I purchased the Buffalo plaid press plate and Postage dies today at the Papercrafter's Workshop - both are Spellbinders.  I pressed the plate onto regular red cardstock, and mounted it and the black postage diecut on a kraft cardstock base.

I cut out the Verve leafy dies in a bright green, the inked them with Distress ink.  The Toadstools (from The Greetery) were also cut in kraft cardstock, and inked with multiple Distress inks.  The sentiment is an old CTMH set, and both it and the pink mushroom were popped up with 3D foam adhesive.

Father's Day

A couple of Father's Day cards to share today.  One was quick and easy, as I can't pass up a pun with our last name when I see one... for my husband.  The second card is one I stamped when my niece let me borrow her Reflections stamp set from The Greetery.  Love this!  Luckily I stamped a few of them, so I'll be able to put together a few more cards just like it:

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there :-)

Father's Day

I grabbed a few Photoplay products to put together my Father's Day cards:

This gorgeous plaid is from their O Canada paper pack from a few years ago... I love it.  And I used their Say it with Stamps 'You' dies and stamp set for my sentiments.  The wooden planks behind them are the Shiplap dies from The Greetery, that I sponged and spattered several colours of ink on before die cutting.

I added a few enamel dots onto one, and some faux metallic hardware on the other.  My inside sentiment is simply "Happy Father's Day"

Masculine cards

It's that time of year to make up a few masculine cards.  I'm using a new word die & matching stamp set by Photoplay, that comes with all kinds of sentiment options.  What a great way to use up some of the patterned papers in my stash.  Here's what I'm giving my husband for Father's Day:
I also bought the matching strip die, that has about 10 different sizes of these thin strips to die cut the sentiment - they made it so easy to line up and get a perfect sized strip.  And here's my brother-in-law's birthday card:
The stamp set includes the thinner "you" as a stamp, but I'm just using the double dies with matted cardstock.  And finally the Father's Day card that I'm sending to my Dad, with a slightly gentler sentiment...
The star dies are from Close To My Heart, and made great accents on my cards.  I made up two of each of these, leaving the others without the sentiments - and then I can quickly stamp them when I need a card.

Let's Toast Father's Day

I picked up this cute set of Lawn Fawn stamps & dies last week, so couldn't wait to pull them out to make a card.  Here's what I made my husband for Father's Day using "Let's Toast":
I love that the dies include the little slits for the toast to pop out of!  I bought the Pull tab add on, also - so you're going to see a lot more of this stamp set in the future.
You can find the stamp/die set, plus the pull tab add-on at The Crafter's Workshop in Stouffville!

Tim Holtz & Photoplay for Father's Day

I have a couple of manly cards to share with you today... I own these stamps in the miniature versions, but my niece has them in the lovely large size, so I stamped a couple of them when we were crafting together last week:

Stamps are Tim Holtz Beer Blueprints & Happy Thoughts by Verve; Cardstock is Chocolate & White Daisy; Your Next Stamp Gumdrops; Patterned paper is Oh Canada! by Photoplay.

Happy Father's Day

I got a Father's Day card made for my Dad this morning... so I snapped a few photos before I sent it off in the mail.  He's always been a big golfer, and this image from Art Impressions reminded me of him bombing around in his golf cart (he's a little leaner than this fellow, though!).  I've used Par Tee Golfers and the sentiment is from Ai as well:

Patterned paper is Party Boy by Photoplay; Cardstock is Pear, Black, Sunflower and White Daisy from Close To My Heart; Inks are Memento Tuxedo Black and Onyx Black by Versafine; Coloured with Copic Markers.

Two More Father's Day cards

I made up two more fairly quick & easy Father's Day cards this weekend... I had the Grillfather stamped and ready to go, so picked out some papers and coloured him up to match.  The navy/melon coloured card has been sitting in pieces on my desk since the first Viva La Verve sketch came out in early June - so I finally got it assembled:

Stamp sets are Grillfather & FDMD - both Art Impressions; Patterned papers are Persimmon, by Basic Grey and Caprice, by Close To My Heart; Cardstock is Outdoor Denim, Smoothie, Chocolate, Crystal Blue, Colonial White & White Daisy;  Copic Markers; Tuxedo Black ink by Memento & Onyx Black by Versafine.

Crazy Birds for Father's Day

I've had the "accessory" set for the Crazy Birds for a little while now, but haven't used it... so when I set out to make a few Father's Day cards, I knew that there were a few male accessories that would fit the bill.  So here are a couple of cards that I made for my Dad & Husband:
I used FDMD from Art Impressions for the sentiment, and for the second one, it says "Happy Father's Day" on the inside, and I popped the image up on pop dots:
Stamp sets are FDMD by Art Impressions, Crazy Birds and Crazy Things by Stampers Anonymous; Inks are Memento Tuxedo Black & Versafine Onyx Black; Copic Markers; Patterned papers are You Rock by Close To My Heart.

It's Hip to be Square

We are hosting a square card challenge on the Art Impressions blog this week, so I have a 5 1/2" square card that I'll be giving my hubby for Father's Day.  He's known to be a bit of a couch napper once the Blue Jays or Maple Leafs are done for the night, so the Lazy Boy Set (Sku #4159) couldn't be more perfect:
I added a little zigzag stitching in blue thread, a couple of square studs and mounted the sentiment on a strip of cork.  Here's a closeup:

There is still a whole week left to join in our challenge, so be sure to link up your card here.  There are always fabulous prizes to be won!  Be sure to check out the Art Impressions blog to see what the rest of the design team has to share.  Have a great day :o)

Copics: Skin E13, E11, E00, E000; Greens YG95, YG93, YG91; Blues B97, B95, B93, B91; Golds Y26, Y23, Y21; Reds E09, E07, E02; Browns E55, E53, E51;  Greys W5, W3, W1.
