Two Challenges

This card incorporates both the Heart2Heart challenge for this week, as well as the Mojo Monday sketch...  H2H called for a patriotic card, so in honour of Canada's 133rd birthday this Thursday, this is what I came up with:

All supplies are CTMH: Stamp sets are Trans Canada (retired), Spot On Backgrounds and Happy Birthday (sentiment); patterned paper is from Canada Day; cardstock is Cocoa & Parchment; inks are Cranberry and Cocoa; Pewter brad.

More teacher cards

Two more teacher cards... I really am having a blast doing girly designs, and I haven't had a chance to use this stamp set much, so I'm glad to do so.  For the first one, I smudged a little hollyhock chalk over the stamped image to give it a bit of a halo effect.  The second is a simple design, but the paper is so pretty, that it didn't need much!  All of the cards in the set are 6 1/2" x 5":

Patterned paper is Basic Grey, Urban Prairie collection; All other supplies are CTMH: Stamp set is Be Yourself; Cardstock is Black and White Daisy; Inks are Baby Pink, Hollyhock & Black; Martha Stewart punch.

Prima Flowers; Martha Stewart punch; Patterned papers are Basic Grey, Urban Prairie collection; Stamp set is Gracious Greetings, Brad and ribbon are Connection Club from CTMH.

Birds & Butterflies

Here are the next two cards for Paige's teacher... the first is using Butterfly Kiss which I've used so much more than I ever thought I would.  I love the 3D look to the large butterfly, which I simply cut out and mounted over the same image.  The little rhinestone circle was a Connections Club reward a few catalogues ago:
Patterned papers are Basic Grey - Urban Prairie collection;  All other supplies are CTMH: Stamp sets are Butterfly Kiss and Bird Basics; Cardstock is Crystal Blue, White Daisy; Inks are Hollyhock, Crystal Blue, Honey.

One of a Kind

"One of a Kind" was one of my favourite stamp sets from the spring catalogue - it's the set that was featured in the cover layout.  You can tell that I like this Piggy Tales paper... I'll be sad when it's all gone!  I love stitching on cards, and like how the intentionally "messy" stitching worked out on this one:
Patterned paper is Piggy Tales; All other product is CTMH: stamp sets - One of a Kind, Argyle Background; cardstock - Crystal Blue, Chocolate; Ink - Crystal Blue, Chocolate, Bamboo; Buttons - Basic collection.

For the last couple of weeks, I've been working on a set of cards as a Teacher's gift.  My daughter requested that they be 'girly' - so it's been a blast coming up with a bunch of cards that are a bit prettier than my normal style.  I'll post them as I finish them, but here's the first:

Patterned paper is Basic Grey, Urban Prairie collection;  All other product is CTMH: stamp sets are Be Yourself, Cherish the Moment; Cardstock is Hollyhock, Blush, White Daisy; Inks are Black, Blush; Ribbon and brad are Juniper;  Martha Stewart punch.

My first Heart 2 Heart challenge!

I've been following the Heart2Heart blog since it began a few months ago, and am very excited to finally participate in their weekly challenge!  The challenges vary from week to week, but this Monday it was a colour challenge: you must use CTMH's Buttercup, Tulip & Black.  Definitely a challenge for me, but it made me think of our wonderful Treasures stamp set.  I originally planned to do a sunset style sponged background, but ended up liking the simple black on white stamping.  Here goes:

All supplies are CTMH: stamp set - Treasures, Argyle backgrounds; cardstock - buttercup, black, white daisy; ink - black, buttercup; tulip brads; cranberry waxy flax.

Knitted Pears!

I've been knitting since I was little... but have really pursued the craft over the last 6 or 8 years, taking classes and learning techniques.  Finally last year, I decided to combine my fashion design career with my knitting skills, and designed my first knitted item - a pear!  My sister-in-law has a pear collection, so I decided that a knitted one would be my contribution, and I knit this in the car one day, designing it as I went along.  I was so pleased with the result, that I knit a second, slightly larger version... and am inspired to continue creating other 'little' things.  The little one is about 3" tall, the larger one is about 4":
While we're on the knitting subject, I'm going to share a card I made to thank my knitting instructor (Karen at Serenity Knits in Newmarket, ON) who is quite amazing...  It is supposed to be a miniature sweater, and was knit up in just a few minutes.  I love using up my leftover sock yarns on little things like this:
All supplies are CTMH - cardstock is Ocean, Hydrangea and White Daisy, stamp set is Card Chatter, Thank You, ink is Bubble Gum.  Toothpick knitting needles are from the Dollar store!
