Puppy Watercolour card

Here is the final card that we'll be painting at my Ai Watercolour class at The Workshop in April (details here!)  The puppy set is one of my favourites, so I had to include one in the class!  The nice thing is that by switching up the colours, you can easily make him resemble your favourite canine.
Art Impressions stamp sets used are: WC Dogs set, WC Bench set, Foliage set and Flower set.  Marvy markers.  Contact Sheri at The Workshop to book your spot, there are two different days - I'd love to have you join us!  Here is a photo of all four of the cards we'll be painting at the class:

Bunny Watercolour

Here is card #3 that will be made at my April watercolour class for The Workshop (details here!).  This is also a similar card to one that I made last spring.  Perfect for an Easter card, spring birthday or just a hello.
Art Impressions Watercolour sets used are: WC Bunnies Set, WC Rustic Container Set, Foliage Set & Flower Set.  Marvy Markers.

Another Ai Watercolour

Here is the second card that I will be teaching at The Workshop in April (details here!).  This is a variation of a card that I made last summer.  The watercolour stamps are typically used for containers of flowers, or cottage type scenes, and I wanted to use the branches to just show a birdhouse and a bird - perfect for a birthday, thank you or thinking of you card:
Stamp sets used are Art Impressions: WC Branches Set, WC Birds Set, WC Foliage Set 2, WC Sentiments & half of the birdhouse from WC Series 7 Set 2.  Inks are Marvy & Tombow markers.

Inspired By & Sketchy Saturdays

Laurel Seabrook has two great challenges on the go right now... and I am playing along with both of them.  She has started Sketchy Saturdays on her blog, so I took the sketch and squished it down to make a horizontal card.  For her Inspired By challenge... I don't own any fox images, and my kitty ones weren't really the right fit, so I went with the graphic patterns and colours shown in the photo.
My brother-in-law likes to have a stash of cards on hand, so I'm sending him this one that'll work as a valentine or a general card that he can give to my sister!
Patterned papers are Photoplay & Papermania by Docrafts.  Dies are Verve (heart) and CTMH (love).  Coloured staples are CTMH.

Inspired By All The Little Things #80

I am so happy to be playing along with the Inspired By All The Little Things challenge!  I was on the original Design Team when Lesley started the challenge a couple of years ago - and it was a wonderful team to be a part of!  There is talent galore, and plenty of inspiration to be found.  I was inspired by the colours, the birdhouse, that gold 'hello' on the wall and the overall shabby chic feel of the photo.
I used a Teresa Collins paper pad called "Summer Stories", and dug out an old CTMH stamp set I had for the birdhouse.  I sewed a line of zigzag stitching with some metallic gold thread across the bottom, and die cut the word hello with an Avery Elle die.  The gumdrops are from Your Next Stamp.  I took another photo in some warmer lighting to try and show the gold cardstock a little better - the actual colour of the card is somewhere between the two photos!

Coffee BFF's

Here is my second card using the Art Impressions BFF's... this is Coffee BFF's:
I loved this pretty ombre background paper, and wanted to show it off a little, so again I went with a larger 5" x 6 1/2" card.  Cardstock is Sunshine, Outdoor Denim & Colonial white by Close To My Heart.  Coloured with Copic markers.  Patterned paper is Summer Dreams by Echo Park.

Freshly Made Sketch #325

I am feeling pretty smug, after getting SIX Christmas cards assembled today, using this week's Freshly Made Sketch!  And there's a seventh card sitting on my craft desk waiting to be assembled...  They're all just variations on the same theme, but I used up these American Crafts papers that I've had for a number of years, so it feels good to use up some old stuff, too:
I added some silver snowflakes to the first two... and had fun with these little green staples!

Patterned papers are Christmas by American Crafts.  Stamps are Close To My Heart; Stitched Alpine Snowflake dies are Poppy Stamps; Hexagon and Square stitched dies are Dienamics by My Favorite Things.

Watercolour Class

Hello!  I am excited to share the first of four cards that I will be teaching in a class at The Workshop in Stouffville, Ontario.  The class will be featuring the Art Impressions watercolour stamps that Sheri carries at the store.  I've been using them for years, and they're a fun way to quickly put an amazing looking watercolour scene together to use on a card.  There are two classes, Tuesday, April 17th 7-10pm, or if you prefer: Friday, April 20th 1-4pm.  All the details are here.  Here is the first card using Garden Wagon Mini Set, and the Flower & Foliage sets:
Sign-ups for the classes are open now!  Contact Sheri at the Workshop to reserve your spot.

Texting BFF's

I'm back with another Girlfriends card, but this week I've got three cards to share using the BFF's which are sort-of the younger version of the Ai Girlfriends.  Here is the first on using Texting BFF's:
It's a fairly large card: 5" x 6 1/2", mainly because I like to show off my patterned paper a little!  I also chose to do bold navy 1/8" mats, which worked better on the larger sized card.  I coloured the ladies up with Copic markers, and popped the sentiments up on pop dots.  My patterned papers are Summer Dreams by Echo Park.

LOL Girlfriends

The Ai Girlfriends stamps were what attracted me to Art Impressions a number of years ago - and that hasn't changed.  I love all the goofy images and great sayings that come with them.  Here is another card using the Lawn Fawn "Chill" Plaid papers that I love, and LOL Girlfriends:
Coloured with Copic markers.  I am playing along with the current Ai challenge which is "Anything Goes!"

Gordon Golfer

I am using one of my favourite male stamps... this is Gordon Golfer from Art Impressions.  My papers are the fun "Chill" plaids from Lawn Fawn, and I added a little zigzag stitching with my sewing machine.  I fussy cut Gordon out and mounted him & the sentiment with pop dots.  I love when I can add a masculine card to my stash!

I made up a couple of Valentines for my family this weekend... I pulled out some bright papers to put a couple of fun cards together.  The first one is also using the Fusion Card Challenge sketch & inspiration photo:

Sham-rocks

I am sharing two of the cards that I made for Art Impressions to take to Creativation in January... using the fun Sham-rocks (Sku #5006) acrylic clear set.  I think these were my first ever St. Patrick's Day cards!  And they were fun to plan - I got creative with my stacked circle dies to cut out a rainbow, and painted about six different watercolour backgrounds before settling on the one that I used:

I used some gold paper for matting the images & sentiments, and added in a few shiny gold sequins as well.  You should check out the entire sets over in the Ai store (links above) - the sentiments in this set are wonderful.
