Coffee Card #3

Sneaking in a third coffee card before the hop ends tomorrow!  My niece sent me these cute coffee cup paperclips a little while ago, so I wanted to make a card to show them off.  I pulled out a Verve digi stamp from last fall, and some old October Afternoon papers.  I am using this week's Mojo Monday sketch as well.
Patterned papers are Woodland Friends, October Afternoon, Verve digi stamp, The Paper Store paperclip, Cardstock is Sapphire, Colonial White & Crystal Blue, Close To My Heart, Olive organdy ribbon CTMH.

Blinky Owl Card Kit

Here is the fourth Card Kit I've designed that will be available in the One Crazy Stamper booth at Scrapfest in Kitchener, Ontario - April 7th & 8th (coming soon! - OCS has a fabulous booth, and two different demos going on!).  This card is a great as a birthday card... but I think if you changed up the sentiment, it could double as a baby card?  Here is Blinky Owl SS014 and Another Year Wiser FF010 both from High Hopes:
Card Kits come with the two stamps shown here, plus all of the cut pieces, card bases and envelopes to make four identical cards.  A full colour instruction sheet is included with the card, along with Copic marker suggestions and all of the cutting measurements for you to make more cards.  Kits are $22 - there are a limited number available, and *if* there are any leftover after Scrapfest, you'll see them in the OCS store.
Happy stamping!

Dancing Easter Tots

I am up on the Art Impressions blog today!
I adore everything about Easter colours - they're so fresh & pretty, and after a long winter like this one, they're a welcome change.  I am using the sweet Dancing Easter Tots (Sku #T4019) for my card:
I blended six different distress inks onto my card base, then sprayed it with some Tattered Angels shimmer mist that gives a wonderful shimmer to the background, as well as some lovely texture from the moisture of the mist.  I ran a line of stitching 1/4" in from the edge with my sewing machine to frame the image.  After colouring with Copic markers, I fussy cut around the image, and used pop dots to adhere it to the base for a little dimension.  I had these wonderful pastel sequins that perfectly matched my inks so I sprinkled a few of those on as well.

The sentiment is from Celebrate Spring MTF (Sku #4849).  Here is a shot to show how much the background glimmers:
There are all kinds of sweet Easter stamps in the Ai store, you can find them all here.  Happy stamping!
Copics used: C3, C1, BV02, BV00, E11, E00, E000, E51, E51, E34, E31, R20, R81, BG11, B35, E57, E55, E53, YG01.

Second Coffee Lover's Card

I managed to put together a second card for the Spring 2017 Coffee Lover's Blog Hop that is underway.  I'm using a newly released Girlfriends stamp set from Art Impressions called Latte Love Set:
So excited when I saw this new Girlfriend set!!  There are two other sentiments that come with it.  I couldn't resist pairing it with the fabulous new Rainbow Plaid papers from Lawn Fawn.  Now I know that some of you are looking at the image and thinking that it doesn't look very springy... but for March here in Canada, they're perfectly dressed :o)

Bummer Card Kit

Here is the third Card Kit that will be available in the One Crazy Stamper booth at Scrapfest in Kitchener, Ontario - April 7th & 8th (hope to see you there, wait until you see all the wonderful spring product Lora is bringing!).  This card is a favourite of mine - I adore the sentiment paired with this image, and I think this is such a versatile card, good for male or female, young or old.  Here is Shelby R208 and Bummer H263 both from High Hopes:
Card Kits come with the two stamps shown here, plus all of the cut pieces, card bases and envelopes to make four identical cards.  A full colour instruction sheet is included with the card, along with Copic marker suggestions and all of the cutting measurements for you to make more cards.  Kits are $22 - there are a limited number available, and *if* there are any leftover after Scrapfest, you'll see them in the OCS store.
Happy stamping!

Blog Hop for L'il Miss Croghan

I am very happy for my crafting friend, Lesley Croghan and her husband Corey, who are having a much anticipated baby girl any day now.  A few of us decided that it would be fun to not only do a blog hop for them, but we all sent the cards to them in one big box that they could open and see at the time of the hop.
I've been an avid follower of Lesley's blog for years... she has crazy good card making skills, and is well known for her interesting and well run challenge blogs!  She gave me one of my first Design Team gigs on Dynamic Duos several years ago.  Here's the card that I put together using the sweet Baby Giraffe from High Hopes Rubber Stamps:

This little giraffe is so adorable!  High Hopes did an entire baby release last year, with such cute images and great sayings.  To see the rest of the cards on the hop - go to Lori Turner's blog, here.
All the best, Croghans!!

Patterned papers are Carta Bella; Stamps are Baby Giraffe SS018 and New Addition HH022 both High Hopes Rubber Stamps; Cashmere cardstock is Close To My Heart; Gumdrops from Your Next Stamp; Copic Markers.

Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop 2017

I planned ahead this time, and ordered this just released set from Art Impressions especially for today's hop :o)   These made a huge splash at CHA, I have lots of photos to share, and a video at the end of my post shows how they're assembled.  This is Oldie PopCard (Sku #4859) one of the new Ai Pop Cards - a stamp set that comes with all of the coordinating dies to create a 3D card.
Here's what the outside looks like... since the main image is on the inside of the card, I wanted to be able to see her when the card is closed, so I used the Window Deco Die stamps and the Window Die, along with a couple of coffee cup dies:
And when the card is opened... the 3D coffee drinker pops up!  I really love the curlers, the slippers and the bottle that she's using to spike her coffee :o)
Here are all the different stamps that I've coloured with Copic markers, and cut out with their matching dies.  You also need to get the PopCard Template die (Sku #4862) that you see there on the left (this comes separately but works with any of the six PopCards:
The dies cut the slits right into each piece.  You fold up the two sides on the template, and then thread each of the pieces onto it like this:
Here's the sideview once all the pieces are threaded on; see the little arrows left pointing out of the last piece?  When the card is closed, they lay flat, but when you open the card, the two arrows kick up her front leg.  I ran a strip of adhesive down the center of the template, and glued it down to the card:
After making a couple of quick cuts to my card base, and adding a little pull strip, it was done!  Here is a shot to show you how perfectly flat the card is when shut:
There are six new PopCards available - check with your local stamp store!
Here's a video from Kate at Art Impressions, showing how the PopCards are assembled:

New 2017 Ai Watercolors

If you're a fan of the Art Impressions Watercolor collection of stamps - you're going to be in heaven!  Ai has just released ten new watercolor stamp sets: new containers, flowers & foliage - and my favourites... kittens, birds & bunnies.  Oh, and there's a brand new sentiment set made especially to work with the watercolor sets.  I have two cards to share today, scroll down to see which new sets I've used:
Look closely - can you see the little bird's nest?  It's possibly my favourite stamp of the new release!
The inside sentiment on this card is "Your kindness spreads like sunshine".  Both cards are using pots from WC Ornate Container Set (Sku #4870); Greenery from WC Foliage Set 2 New (Sku #4867); Flowers from WC Flower Set 2 (Sku #4868) and Wooden Chair Mini Set (Sku #4876).  The grass is from Foliage Set (Sku #4051).  Both sentiments are from WC Sentiments Set (Sku #4903).
I kept both card designs fairly simple, as I really wanted the paintings to be the focus.  I used a mixture of both Tombow and Marvy markers along with my Ai #6 paintbrush.  Be sure to head over to the Art Impressions blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has to share today.
Happy painting!

Farmer's Market Watercolour

I'm combining a bit of old & new today.  Last fall I painted up several images using WC Series 3 Set #1 (Sku #4056) and WC Series 3 Set # 2(Sku #4057) by Art Impressions.  I had always thought of these as "harvest/fall" stamps... until I saw this watercolor tutorial by Kendra Krebs - and she used it as a spring/farmer's market theme.    Here is one of the images that I painted, that I made up into a springlike card, along with the brand new WC Sentiments Set (Sku #4903):
I used some smooth watercolour paper along with my Tombow & Marvy markers, then softened the lines and pulled out the colour with a damp paintbrush.  I added a little bit of sky, and stamped the sentiment once everything was dry.  After matting, I used pop dots to mount it, and tied some Maya Road twine underneath.

The grass is from Foliage Set (Sku #4051).  You can find a wide range of Marvy Markers on the Art Impressions website here.  Happy painting!
