Play Date Cafe Challenge #61

A Belated Merry Christmas to all of you... I haven't been able to post in about a week since I caught a cough/cold/sinus type thing a few days before Christmas, so was glad to be feeling well enough today to find some play time!  The current Play Date Cafe Challenge has an interesting colour combo that I used to make a thank-you card that I need to send.  Here is our inspiration:
Patterned paper is Vineyard Berry Fleur de Lis; Cardstock is Vineyard Berry, Moonstruck & Bamboo; Ink is Vineyard Berry; Stamp set is Gracious Greetings; - all CTMH; Spellbinders dies; Bling - Michaels.

Another quick one...

I'm trying hard to get teacher gifts sent out tomorrow, and hope to put the last few cards in the mail... so I *think* these are my last Christmas cards of the season.  Fairly simple, and similar to a few I've done this year, but I still have a bit of the Mistletoe paper kicking around - so here's what I came up with:
Ribbon, Michael's; Stamp set is Holiday Trinkets; Patterned papers are Mistletoe; Cardstock is Cocoa & Colonial White; Inks are Garden Green, Cocoa & Cranberry - all CTMH

Two Challenges

I'm combining this week's Heart2Heart Challenge (gift items) and the Color Throwdown Challenge.  I made a set of Christmas gift tags that I'm giving as a hostess gift next weekend.  Sometimes I think that tags take longer to make than cards!  But it was fun.  Here is our colour inspiration:
Patterned papers are Mistletoe, & Mistletoe Creative Basics; Cardstock is Cocoa, New England Ivy, Cranberry & Colonial White; Stamp sets are Just for the Holidays, Christmas Melodies & New Fallen Snow; Inks are Cranberry, Cocoa, Desert Sand & New England Ivy - all CTMH; Michael's ribbon, kraft paper; Martha Stewart punch, Stickles.

I'm a Lucky Lady!

A few weeks ago, Vicki Wizniuk had a little give-away on her blog, and guess who won??  Me!  She asked us to tell her what was our favourite project of hers, and I didn't even hesitate, I remembered her Humble Artist's Swap card from August 2009 - and to this day it is one of my fave cards (you can see it here).  So look what I won - a CTMH Triple Play mini book kit, and a handmade card from her.  Talk about getting fun mail :o)  Then last week I won the November challenge at Curves (I lost a combined 6.6 pounds & inches!).  Don't things always happen in 3's?  I may run out and pick up a lotto ticket this evening.  Here are my goodies:

Mojo Monday #168

I've had a request from a friend for a 90th birthday card!  So I took a break from Christmas cards to work on this one... I paired it with this week's Mojo Monday sketch, and one of my new favourite Verve dies:
Patterned paper is Urban Prairie, Basic Grey; Die is Verve; Cardstock is Hollyhock & White Daisy; Stamp sets are Precious Alphabet & Cherish; Inks are Blush, Hollyhock & Garden Green; Pink Carnation organdy ribbon - all CTMH

Two Challenges

I paired up this week's Color Throwdown Challenge with the Card Patterns sketch...  I haven't used these little elves yet this year, and it was great to use a non-traditional colour combo for a change!
And here's my effort:

Stamp set is Merry Pursuits; Cardstock is Chocolate, Spring Iris, Lilac Mist & White Daisy; Inks are Chocolate & Lilac Mist; Spring Iris marker; Lilac Mist organdy ribbon - all CTMH. Copic Markers, Michaels ribbon, Stickles.

Play Date Cafe Challenge #58

This was SOOO much harder than I expected it to be!  Red & White - how hard can that be??  When I dug through my paper stash, and found that most of my holiday stuff was red/white&green... or distressed red & cream... I became quite determined to do a fairly pristine red & white card :o)  So I went with some Jingle patterned papers, taught myself how to make a folded medallion, and pulled out the sewing machine.  Even though I quite like my card, it's not Christmassy enough for me...  I may glitter it up a bit.  Here's our Play Date Cafe inspiration:
Patterned papers are Jingle; Cardstock is White Daisy & Tulip; Stamp sets are Evergreen & Just for the Holidays; - all CTMH.

Heart2Heart Challenge #35

I've been away from the H2H Challenge for a few weeks, so I'm glad to give this week's sketch a try... I pulled out a couple of different paper packs to mix & match, it's great to use up some older stuff!  Here is our sketch:
Patterned papers are from Jingle & Veranda Creative Basics; Cardstock is Desert Sand, Tulip & White Daisy; Stamp set is Holiday Jingle; Inks are Desert Sand and Juniper; Juniper ribbon; Snowflake buttons - all CTMH.

Mojo Monday #167

Yay!  My Verve stamps finally arrived in the mail last week, but unfortunately they were too late for me to use for my craft show... but now I can play with them till my heart's content.  I thought this week's Mojo sketch was lovely, and was definitely calling out for snowflakes, so here's what I came up with:

I may glitter it up a bit more, what do you think?
Patterned papers are K&Co.- Yuletide; Kraft - Michaels; Cardstock - Colonial White, CTMH; Stamps are Verve - Glad Tidings; Inks are Pear, Tulip and Desert Sand - CTMH;  Sparkles - CTMH.

Coffee Cards and a little Bieber

I'm attaching pictures of my predicted best-sellers at my craft show this weekend... (you just never know what will sell, though?)  I came across the idea on Vicki Wizniuk's blog a few weeks ago - and couldn't resist making my own.  After showing a few people the result, it was clear that I should go into production.  If you're Canadian - you'll recognize the Tim's version, and I came up with a Starbucks version too:
Oh, and I just have to show you where my daughter & I were on Tuesday night... she got tickets to see Justin Bieber in Toronto for her birthday.  He was amazing - great performer, and he's just 16.

Tag Mania!

My posts will be few and far between this week... as I'm busy prepping for a craft show this coming weekend.  Today I was in assembly-line mode, making little gift tags to go in the goodie bags they're giving away to the first hundred people to come to the show.  If you're going to be close to Newmarket this weekend, send me an email, and I'll forward you the invite!  I had them all laid out on my table to do assembly-line stamping.  Here's what 90 tags look like:
I kept them pretty simple due to the volume.  They should be cute tied onto a kraft wine/gift bag with a red & silver Christmas tree.

It's Your Day - other colours!

I've had a huge response to the Pear birthday card that I posted a few days ago, so I thought that I would post the other two colour versions that I did - Smoothie & Lagoon.  Together they look so bright and gorgeous!

Mojo Monday #165

With this week's Mojo Monday sketch, I wanted to get away from Christmas for a little while!  So I pulled out some fun Cosmo Cricket papers and CTMH's stamp of the month.  Here's the sketch:
I often go for dark bases, so it felt great to go soft and creamy with this one.  I zigzagged the ribbon onto the paper, too!
Patterned papers are Girl Friday, Cosmo Cricket; Cardstock is Blush & Colonial White; Inks are Crystal Blue & Lagoon; Stamp sets are Friendship Flowers & A Little Thanks; Twill ribbon - all CTMH; Martha Stewart punch.

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #23

A great sketch for this week's Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge - and I finally got a chance to use these little candy cane's that I've had sitting around forever!  Here's the sketch:

Patterned Paper is Mistletoe, Creative Basics & Mistletoe; Cardstock is Cocoa & Colonial White; Ink is Garden Green; Garden Green button; Chocolate Waxy Flax

It's Your Day

I love this graphic birthday stamp set - it looks great no matter what colours you choose.  I'm working on building my stock for a craft show later this month, and needed a few more generic birthday cards.  I REALLY  love these three new colours together:
Cardstock is Pear, White Daisy & Black; Inks are Pear, Lagoon, Smoothie & Black; Ribbon is Juniper; Stamp set is It's Your Day. - all CTMH

Heart2Heart Challenge

This week's H2H Challenge is all about shapes!  Anything but a square or rectangular card goes...  So I came up with the idea of doing an ornament.  I wanted it to be as sparkly as possible, so I added glitter to all of the snowflakes... and if I ever locate my bitty sparkles, I'll add a few of those on there, too.  The card opens up just like a circle card:
Cardstock is White Daisy, Heavenly Blue & Grey Wool; Stamp set is Snow Flurries; Ink is Grey Wool - all CTMH.

Color Throwdown Challenge #117

This week's Color Throwdown Challenge colours had a wonderfully soft feeling for me - so I tried to stay with that in my card.  The sparkles are more of a glittery taupe in real life, but they look a bit goldish in the photo:
Cardstock is kraft (Michael's) & bamboo; Patterned paper is Mistletoe; Stamp sets are Festive Frills & Just for the Holidays; Ink is Desert Sand - all CTMH

Nature's Gift

I loved this stamp set as soon as I saw it, so I hope to make a few more Christmas cards with it before the season is over.  This is a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" version of a card I made a few weeks ago as a square card for the Heart2Heart Challenge blog.  I wanted a simpler version to sell at my craft show, without the pleated ribbon:
Patterned paper is Mistletoe; Cardstock is Colonial White & Cocoa; Stamp set is Nature's Gift; Inks are Garden Green & Desert Sand; Ribbon is Creative Basics, Mistletoe - all CTMH.  Nestabilities circles; Martha Stewart punch.
