Christmas Cheer & a Warehouse Sale!

 I've been working away at Christmas cards in all of my spare time!  Here is the sweet little penguin from the new Art Impressions 2015 Christmas Cheer Set (Sku # 4666):

Viva La Verve

Yay - finally a little me time to work on some personal Christmas cards, and a chance to play along with some challenges!  I've used the November Week 2 sketch from VLV Sketches, and the Rustic Winter theme for the Nov Inspiration Challenge on the Verve Blog:

I used some old Basic Grey papers that were kicking around my craft room, and used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the stars.  You can't see in the photo, but I used my clear Wink of Stella on the star and to outline the word "brightly" - gives it a little glimmer.  I haven't distressed a card in a while, so had fun grunging up the edges a bit, and used my sewing machine around the circle & banner.  The stamp set is Verve's Peace on Earth.

Holly Jolly

 I have a couple of sweet reindeer cards to share today, using one of the newly released Art Impressions Christmas stamp sets: Holly Jolly Set (Sku #4667)

After colouring him several times with my Copic markers, I fussy cut them out, and mounted them with some foam tape over several circle die cuts.  I wanted to add a little glitz, so I used some gold foil tape on one, and added some gold thread under the other.

For a little extra shimmer, I put some clear Wink of Stella on their bells and noses!

Twinkle in a Tangle

  Today I'm sharing what I'm calling an "Opening Easel Card" - using Art Impressions' brand new Square Easel Die (Sku #4699), and Twinkle in Tangle (Sku #4665).  Here is a photo of it, tied shut:

 I started by cutting two easel die pieces in blue cardstock with my Cuttlebug.  Then using washi tape to hold together two circle dies, I cut out a circular blue frame:

I added some patterned paper to the front of one easel piece, die cut a hole through all the layers and added my frame: 

 Now for the part that's hard to photograph... when I glued my easel card together, I did not glue down the front easel piece that has the circle opening, so that it will open and close just like a regular card:

 I glued my matted image to the inside of the card, centering it under the circle opening:

 Here's a closeup of the snuggly couple:

 And finally a back view, which possibly shows it the best.  You can see how I tucked in some organdy ribbon on both the front and back of the easel, so that after the recipient has opened and read my card, they can tie it back up and put it on display.

Mini Reindeer

I am posting on the Art Impressions blog today!

I've had something similar to this card in mind for a while, but using the owl minis... (so stay tuned, you may see a non-holiday version of this in the future!).  But I loved the idea of using the Reindeer mini front & back stamps  (Sku #4507) for this one:

 This is a long & skinny card!  3" x 6";  I cut my opening, and added a green frame to it, then glued my five reindeer on either side, leaving Rudolph facing front.  I added some Wink of Stella to his nose & the bells on their collars, for a little glimmer.  I kept my design pretty simple, as I wanted all the focus on the reindeer.

 I added the "Jingle all the Way" sentiment from Jingle Set (Sku #4681) towards the bottom of the inside, so that it wouldn't show when the card was closed:

Snowman Stumble

I am sharing one of the adorable Snowmen from this fall's High Hopes release on the One Crazy Stamper blog today: #TT014EZ Snowman Stumble:

 This sweet snowman would be awesome to use for your holiday cards - he's quick to colour up, and you can easily coordinate him to your background papers by changing the colours of his hat & mitts.  I've coloured him with Copic Markers on Xpress-It blending cardstock, stitched both the image and patterned paper with my sewing machine, and then I popped him up so that I could tie some organdy ribbon underneath him.  I added a little bit of zigzag stitching on the red panel that is underneath him.  Have you started your holiday cards yet??  If not, head on over to the One Crazy Stamper store to see everything that Lora has in stock to get you going.

One Crazy Stamper November Challenge

The first of November means that it is the start of a brand new challenge over on the One Crazy Stamper blog!  Our theme is anything goes winter/holiday - just no digi stamps, please!  I'm sharing one of the sweet images from the 2015 fall High Hopes release: Lil Snowbird #TT009EZ

 I coloured her with my Copic Markers, and added a die cut poinsettia that I popped up over some shimmery gold threads.  I put some clear Wink of Stella on the flower and on a few spots of the image as well.  Head on over to the OCS blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has to share today, and you can get all the info about our November challenge while you're there.
