Floral J and Sentiment

I finished just under the wire to have this for the May Alphabet Soup challenge in the Papercrafter's Inner Circle Facebook group.  May was letters I & J.

This is the Floral J and Sentiment press plate - inked up with 3 Distress Oxide inks to create a rainbow ombre effect.  I used the Essential Arches dies to cut a little blue frame, and a larger orange arch for underneath.  The J panel is adhered with 3D foam adhesive.

I added a couple of flowers and some foliage from the Perfect Pies line, and added Wink of Stella to the image for some sparkle that doesn't show in the photos!  The paper is ancient Doodlebug, called 'Sunkissed'.  I love the summer vibe of this card!

Exclusive Daisy Set

I've been making an effort to colour up images that I'd previously stamped, along with using up patterned paper from my stash, which resulted in this somewhat *bright* creation this afternoon:

This is the Exclusive Daisy Set by Art Impressions that was available at Scrapbook.com for a limited time.  I coloured the image with Copic markers, and have seen so many pink/yellow combos lately, that I wanted to give it a try - which resulted in my vibrant creation.  And since I'm a matchy-matchy person at heart, I pulled out the Farmer's Market papers from Doodlebug to create my card.

I've also been wanting to use some of the interesting die sets from Art Impressions, most of which were created for mini journals, but work really well on cards.  The frame is from 5588 - Journal Oval Frames, and the banner is from 5809 - Decorative Journal Page 2.  The frame was layered twice for a little extra dimension, and the banner (with a sentiment from 5735 - Birthday Sentiments Set) was raised on foam adhesive.

Golf Shop Matchbook

 Every once in a while, it's fun to create something tiny.  Art Impressions recently came out with four new Matchbook sets, so I've pulled out 5907 - Golf Shop MB and some older Doodlebug Under the Sea papers from my stash:

There are two basic die sets that you need: 5317 - MB Template Die, that creates the walls/windows of your scene, and 5318 - MB Envelope Die which creates the envelope that the Matchbook folds up into.

The envelope is so quick to create - you just run it through your die cutting machine, and that's it!  After folding the Matchbook up flat, it slips into the envelope, and you just insert the flap in the slot to keep it closed.  I love using coordinating patterned papers to make a bright and fun little package.

All of the Matchbook sets include pieces with flaps to glue onto the side walls, something for the back, and a little sentiment that stands up.  My favourite part of these are those adorable little windows (so well designed!)

Merry Slimline card

 This slimline design using my 1 1/2" Alphabet Die set from Art Impressions, was totally inspired by one that Jennifer McGuire made a few weeks ago... and was fun to make:

The finished card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2", and I scored my 8 1/2" x 7" base cardstock 1 3/4" in from each side, so that they meet in the middle.  

I chose some Doodlebug Designs paper from a few years ago, cut it to 8 1/2" x 3 1/2", and then cut it in half lengthwise before adhering it to the two flaps of the base.  I used my Studio Katia Slimline Die set to cut the white mat that is behind the letters, then cut it in half lengthwise, before adhering it over the patterned paper.  The letters were die cut from cardstock that coordinated with the patterned paper, and glued down to the upper flap only... so that when you untie the ribbon, it opens up like:

This!  It's a pretty simple card, but a fun design to create.

Anything is Possible with Coffee

I was able to put together a second card for the 2020 Spring & Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop, and wanted to do a slimline card:

 Using all product that's been around awhile... Cream & Sugar Doodlebug Designs paper, Verve sentiment & die, and Tim Holtz Blueprint Sketches from Stamper's Anonymous.

 The white circle & squares are all adhered with 3D adhesive tape to raise them up a little.

2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

It's Day 1 of the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  I pulled out an image and sentiment from a Verve digi set from a couple of years ago to put a little Pumpkin Spice card together:

Bit of a busy card with a mish-mash of die cut shapes and patterns...  (It's a little less wild looking in person!)  Just using up a few older paper bits and pieces from some Doodlebug designs sheets, as it's a bit of a mission of mine to use things up from my craft room stash!  I'll be back with a few more fall & wintry coffee cards later throughout the week.  Enjoy the hop!

Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

It's the start of the first Coffee Lover's Blog Hop of 2019, and it makes me so happy to be playing along!  I haven't missed one yet, so my streak continues...  I am using two stamp sets from Sugar Pea Designs today, along with these Cream & Sugar papers from Doodlebug Designs that I've been hoarding for a little bit.  Here's what I came up with:

 The coffee cup is from the Mugs & Kisses stamp set, and the sentiment is from Parisian Holiday.  I've used the sketch from the May Mix It Up Challenge on the Sugar Pea Designs blog.

Serving up some Love

My tennis-playing friend at work loves giving these out to her friends on their birthdays, so I made another card for her with 4529 Birthday Love Set from Art Impressions:

 I used the bright & fun Under the Sea papers from Doodlebug Designs to pick up the colours of her snazzy tennis outfit.  I coloured her with Copic markers and cut her out with a stitched rectangle die.

 Love her!

Mugs and Kisses

Today I'm sharing the valentine that I made for my daughter, who is coming home tonight for her reading week!  The Mugs and Kisses stamp set is intended as a wintry/holiday set... but with us expecting over a foot of snow this week, I thought that it would work perfectly as a wintry valentine, especially with the cute sentiment.  I've used the sketch from the current Mix It Up challenge on the Sugar Pea Designs blog:

 My sewing machine was acting up... so don't look too closely at the stitching!  But I love the little bit of texture that the sewing adds.  I popped the mug up with pop dots, and added some gumdrops & a few diecut hearts.

You're Claw-some

I have eyed this stamp set from Lawn Fawn for a long time... and finally splurged and got it this summer.  Like every kid, I always wanted to try this game at the PNE...you were always sure that you'd be able to pick up the cool stuffed animal.  And of course, you'd get a ring pop if you were lucky.  Here's You're Claw-some:

 I have once again, used my new favourite plaid from Doodlebug Designs "On the Farm".  I heat embossed the sentiment with some pearl embossing powder on black cardstock, then popped both it and the claw/unicorn up with some pop dots.

Sugar Pea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #47

I am a little obsessed with this plaid paper from Doodlebug Design's "On the Farm" pack... so you're about to see it a few times over the next while.  I wanted to play along with the September Mix It Up challenge on the Sugar Pea Designs blog, and was inspired by the cozy plaid blanket, the colours & the mugs in the current Inspired By photo.  I knew my new favourite plaid was going to work.  I am using the Mugs & Kisses stamp set for the first time, so I'm hoping that this works as a holiday/wintery card?  If not, it's bright & fun, which I love:

 I stamped the image in Rich Cocoa ink, and coloured it with Copic markers, then layered it over a tag that I had lightly blended some Wild Honey Distress Ink on to give it a warm glow.  I popped the sentiment up over the tag with some 3D adhesive.  *I am also entering this into the Sugar Pea Designs Stamptember contest on the Simon Says Stamp blog!

Pumpkin Spice

'Tis the season... so I had to pull out my Lawn Fawn Pumpkin Spice stamp set and make up a few cards.

Glitzy's birthday

It is my daughter's best friend's birthday tomorrow... whom we affectionately call Glitzy, after a small pot-bellied pig of the same name.  So of course when we recently saw this Doodlebug Designs paper, we bought it with her birthday in mind.  I've had the card idea floating around in my head for a few days (pretty simple, just a few stitched dies), and then decided to make a tiny little tea light candle birthday cake to match... and maybe a little gift bag to hold it in.  Kind of piggy overload.

Happy World Card Making Day!

I was able to get five cards made today... but can only post this one, until my daughter's birthday later this month.  I love this month's VLV Sketch - a good classic card design, which can be used so many ways.  So here is the latest Verve digi set Coffee Please, and some older Doodlebug papers:

Crafty Girls - Art Impressions Girlfriends

 The Art Impressions Design Team are swapping with Marvy this week!  So I am using some wonderful Marvy markers on today's project using one of the newest Girlfriends sets - here is Crafty Girls Set (Sku #4890):

 I used the Marvy Le Plume Permanent markers - in six different flesh tones to colour in the skin tones of my Girlfriends (these are wonderful alcohol based ink markers).  I also used the wonderfully sparkly Deco Just Glitter Premium gold marker to add a little glitter to one of the cards and an earring - here's a better shot so that you can see the glimmer!

 Our current challenge here on the blog is "Off Kilter" - we want to see your tilted panels on your creations.  Hope you can play along!
