Love You

A fairly quick valentine for my husband... I used the Block Letter Alphabet dies from Art Impressions, cut from some old Basic Grey papers that are favourites of mine!  Then added a Photoplay Say it With Stamps die, triple stacked with black cardstock for a little dimension, and added a few heart.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Block Alpha Valentine

You all know how much I love the 5072 - Block Letters Die Set from Art Impressions... and word die cards are very popular right now, especially as valentines.  I wanted to do another colour strip card, so combined the two ideas to make a slimline card:

I did some ink blending on my white textured card stock, using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink, fading it upwards, then cut out my shape with Studio Katia's Dotted Slimline die, and centered my L, V, E and heart die before running it through my diecut machine again.  I used a Pinkfresh Studio stencil and some Festive Berries ink to add a little something to my background panel, then added 1/4" strips of my six cardstock colours, and adhered the white panel down with 3D foam adhesive.  A few irridescent blue jewels added a little sparkle.

Harvey's Birthday

What do you do for a 5-year old's birthday card when you don't own any truck, digger or Paw Patrol stamps??  You dig out your dies and make a name card.  He's just learning to read, so I know he'll like seeing his name on the card.  I used some old Basic Grey papers, and the Stitched Slimline and Block Letters die sets from Art Impressions:

Slimline Birthday card

I have a quick & easy slimline card to share today - using the 5072 - Block Letters Die set from Art Impressions.
The hardest part of making this card was choosing the colours!  I searched through my cardstock stash to put together my rainbow, and then was able to use bits and pieces to cut out each letter.  The letters are each 1 1/4" high, and the word fit perfectly on my 8 1/2 x 3 1/2" card.  *Hint* - because my polka dot background had horizontal dots, it made it really easy for me to perfectly line up my word!  I stamped the greeting in Versafine Onyx Black ink, and added a couple of matte black gumdrops from Your Next Stamp to finish it off.
Tune in on Saturday, Aug. 15th at 11am on the Papercrafter's Workshop Facebook page - and I will be talking about slimline cards with samples and a quick demo!
