I am happy to say that I've finished up my family valentines ahead of time. No scrambling at the last minute... yay! I used Laurel's Sketchy Saturday sketch, along with the colours & theme from the February Mix It Up Challenge on the Sugar Pea Designs blog. Here's what I'm giving my husband:
Those are actually shiny silver stripes... you can see them a bit better in this photo:
I'm feeling a little rusty with my colouring, so it was great to pull out my Copics and get down to business. Here was our inspiration:
Stamp set is Better Together by Sugar Pea Designs; Patterned paper is Head Over Heels Collection by Bo Bunny; Copic Markers; Silver Adhesive tape, Close To My Heart.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #300!
I was so happy that Michelle asked me to be a guest designer for the 300th challenge (wow!) for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog this week. There are a whole bunch of guests joining the team this week, so I hope you'll join us and play along. Here's what I've come up with:
Now, if you scroll down and take a peek at our sketch... you'll see that it has quite a lot going on. My normal go-to is a bunch of coordinating patterned paper, but for some reason I decided to make it a mostly one-layer card, and I represented all of the shapes with stamps. Once I picked which stamps I wanted to use, I decided to make it a rainbow effect.
I started by blending four colours of Distress Oxide inks lightly into the top and bottom corners, and then stamped over them with the polka dots in dye based inks. I added the sketchy circles to represent the circles on the sketch, and sprinkled on a rainbow of sequins in lieu of the flowers. I stamped the Hello sentiment inside the red circles, then matted it with black and adhered it to the base with pop dots. I have a small arrow die, and almost adhered a little black one onto the card, but decided that with my rainbow colours, it was busy enough!
Stamp sets used: Better Together by Verve; Hello and Doodled Designs by Close To My Heart; Inks are Black Oxide by Versafine; Pear, Creme Brulee, Sunset, Tulip, Gypsy & Sapphire by Close To My Heart; Mowed Lawn, Honey, Wilted Violet & Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks by Ranger. Black and White Daisy cardstock by Close To My Heart.

Mojo Monday #367
I got a lovely package of happy mail today... a few weeks back, I won Verve's entire October release for one of my coffee cards (yay me!). I could hardly wait to open it up and start creating. Two of the stamp sets are perfect to make cards for someone fighting breast cancer, and with October being Breast Cancer Awareness month - I wanted to make and post a few cards. Here is, I'm sure, the first of many using this week's Mojo Monday sketch:
Patterned papers are Sweetheart, CTMH; Cardstock is Grey Wool, Cotton Candy & White Daisy, CTMH; Inks are Black & Cotton Candy, CTMH; Stamp sets are Pink Power & Better Together, Verve; Dies are Pennant Trim and Ribbon, Verve.
The October Verve Diva Dare is "Pink Power", so I am entering this there as well!

Two cards for three challenges.
I've had a couple of evenings to just enjoy playing along with a few challenges, and have both cards ready to post tonight. The first is for the Verve blog's May inspiration challenge "Font Focus" so I've used one of my all time fave Verve sets, Words of Wisdom with a few hints of the newer Better Together set stamped around the edges. I've used the sketch from The Challenge #6 by Lesley Croghan:
My second card is using the sketch from the current "Seize the Sketch" challenge, using an Art Impressions Coffee BFF's image:
First card: Patterned papers are Baby Jane, Cosmo Cricket; Cardstock is Tulip, CTMH; Inks are Whisper, CTMH and Tuxedo Black, Memento; Stamp sets are Words of Wisdom & Better Together, Verve; Twine is American Crafts.
Second card: Patterned papers are Woodland Park, October Afternoon; Ink is Tuxedo Black, Memento; Copic Markers; Twine is American Crafts; Verve Pennant Trim die.

Two Verve challenges!
I really loved the latest Verve release stamp set "Better Together", and it works perfectly for two of their current challenges. The April Diva Inspiration challenge is "Chevron Chic", and I've used the Week Two sketch on the Viva La Verve blog. This is a very CAS card for me!
Patterned paper is Key To My Heart; Cardstock is Juniper & Colonial White; Inks are Juniper, Sortbet, Tulip, Creme Brulee & Black, Stamp set is One-Way Borders - all Close To My Heart; Sentiment & dots are Better Together, Verve; Enamel dots, Your Next Stamp.
