Vintage Vixens

This is a real oldie from Art Impressions that I had stamped off many years ago, and just pulled it out to colour this week.  I've had these Graphic 45 papers in my stash for ages as well, so it was a great excuse to use up a bunch of product, and I got to make a card for a special friend.

Let's Celebrate!

Happy Groundhog Day!!  Let's hope that he doesn't see his shadow :o)  I spotted these sweet baking themed papers when I was at the One Crazy Stamper store recently, and I knew they'd look great with one of the Vintage Vixens stamps from Art Impressions so here is Six Layer Set:
The sentiment says: "Let's celebrate the end of bathing suit season with a six layer chocolate cake."  I love it!  I added a large loopy die cut behind her, as well as some tiny baking dies at the bottom.  I used pop dots on the sentiment and the baking bowl for a little dimension.  We started a brand new challenge on the OCS blog yesterday - anything goes, so we hope you'll play along and link up your creations.  There'll be all kinds of inspiration there all month long, so if the groundhog does happen to see his shadow, and we have 6 more weeks of winter... we'll just all have to stay indoors and make cards!  Works for me.

One Crazy Stamper July Challenge

It's officially summer!  Even though it's been feeling pretty summery for weeks now, July just seems to be the official start to the season - and July 1st brings us a new challenge on the One Crazy Stamper blog!  I've gone totally summery with this one, using one of the Art Impressions Vintage Vixens images: Bathing Suit Set (Sku #4589)
I've paired up the ladies with a 6x6" paper pad from Doodlebug Designs: Sunkissed , and of course, my favourite enamel dots!  The sentiment reads: My bathing suit told me to go to the gym but my sweatpants said, "Nah, you're good."  I think we can all relate!

Be sure to head on over to the OCS blog to see what the rest of the design team has to share with you this month, and we would love you to join our challenge!  Here's where you can find things in the One Crazy Stamper store:

Red, White & Blue Challenge

We are having a Red White & Blue Challenge on the Art Impressions blog - so I'm using one of the Vintage Vixen stamp sets - Bathing Suit Set (Sku #4589)
I made it into an easel card... I think this is the first time that I've done a circle version, and I quite like it!  I'm in a bit of a polka dot phase right now.
The inside sentiment is hilarious:  My bathing suit told me to go to the gym, but my sweatpants said, "Nah, you're good."  Now I also couldn't decide whether to add a bow or not, so here are a couple of shots including the bow... I actually like it both ways?

Head on over to the Ai blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has to share with you today, and be sure to link up your creation - there are always wonderful prizes to be won!

Mood Swing

I'm back using some of the brand new Art Impressions Vintage Vixens today - here is a card made with Mood Swing Set (Sku #4593):
I wanted it to have a bit of a Country Fair feel to it - which is why I chose these papers.  I stamped the gals, and coloured them with Copic markers, then fussy cut them out, quite close to the image.  I added pop dots to give the card a bit of dimension.
Happy stamping, everyone!  Copic markers used:

Another Vintage Vixen

I've been playing with another one of the newly released Vintage Vixens from Art Impressions!  All of the ladies in this collection have a little bit of attitude going on, which I absolutely love :o)  Here is my card using Six Layer Set (Sku #4592):
One of the papers in this pack had a smaller pattern on it, so I decided to paper piece her dress, and coloured the rest of her up with Copic markers.  Don't forget that our Make Me Smile challenge is still happening here on the blog - and I think my little Vintage Vixen fits the bill perfectly.  You can link up your own creation here and have the chance to win a prize!

 Happy stamping everyone.

May Contain Rum!

I am posting on the Art Impressions blog today! I'm a big retro fan, so I love the 40's/50's images that are in the new Vintage Vixens collection.  Today I'm using Contains Rum Set (Sku #4594):
As soon as I saw the Vixens, I ran out and bought these papers especially for them, as they remind me of aprons & home baking!  When I added the blue outline around her, I intended to go back in and soften the halo a bit, but I like the sort of cartoon element it gave to the image so I left it as is.
Don't forget that our Vintage Vibe challenge is still happening on the Ai blog, we would love to see your creations with a vintage feel to them - and there are always fabulous prizes to be won!

One Crazy Stamper February Challenge

We're starting another month off with a brand new challenge on the One Crazy Stamper blog!  February's challenge is "Red, White & a Die Cut".  Well, there are a lot of Valentine possibilities with this one, but I wanted to show off the brand new release from Art Impressions.  This gal is one of the "Vintage Vixens", which are all retro images with fun sayings.  Here is The Queen Set (Sku #4591):
I layered two Spellbinder's dies to create the black frame, and then I fussy cut around my Vixen and popped her up on pop dots.  I die cut the sentiment and popped it up as well.  Here's a close up:
