This week's Black Tie colour combo for Dynamic Duos#33 is Gold & Basic Black, with a dessert option of a musical theme! I stuck to a CAS style for this one, using a card done by Karen Pedersen as inspiration.
Using a circular mask, I stamped the music sheet background stamp from Universal Backgrounds onto the white panel. I scored the edges, then covered the stamped image with coarse glitter.
We would love to have you join us at Dynamic Duos this week, we ask that you use just the two colours of the challenge, and you may add neutrals like kraft, skin tones, greys etc. Hop over to the DD blog to see all of the Dynamo's inspiration for this week, or you can see their links on my sidebar.
On a personal note - I HAVE MY COMPUTER BACK!!! Yes, as you can see, I'm a little excited. Almost two weeks without being able to upload or edit photos among other things. No more sad cell phone photos! I have a few projects to share that I'll be posting over the next few days.
Cardstock is Black, & White Daisy, CTMH; Gold paper from my stash!; Stamp sets are Universal Backgrounds & Pear & Partridge WOTG, CTMH; Ink is Black, CTMH; Martha Stewart coarse glitter; Gold cord from my stash.

CAS Butterflies
When I saw both The Paper Players colour challenge and Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday sketch today, my card idea came together pretty quickly. I have my Dotty patterned papers and my new (to me!) Taylored Expressions butterfly dies, so I didn't stray too far from Chupa's sample:
Patterned papers are Dotty for You; Cardstock is Colonial White; Stamp sets are Universal Backgrounds & Card Word Puzzle; Ink is Desert Sand; Mocha Opaque Pearls - all CTMH; Charming Oval dies by Verve; Butterfly dies, Taylored Expressions.

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #49
Just getting this done in the nick of time... This was such an unusual sketch, that I just had to play along with Sketchbook Saturday, but when I started out, I had in mind a bunch of stitched vines, maybe some 3D flowers - and my card turned out to be the complete opposite! CAS is definitely not my usual style, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I stamped the flowers up the left side in bamboo ink, then masked off the top and bottom of the card, leaving about a 2 1/2" strip. I lightly sponged bamboo ink all over the exposed area, and then overstamped Universal Backgrounds in desert sand. A little knotted organdy ribbon, and I was done:
White daisy cardstock; Bamboo & Desert Sand Inks; Ivory Organdy ribbon; Stamp sets are Card Word Puzzle & Universal Backgrounds - all CTMH; Sentiment is Blessings, Verve.

Colour Challenge on Heart2Heart
This is a bittersweet post for me! It's my final challenge on the Heart2Heart Design team... my how 6 months fly by. It's been a wonderful experience - meeting such a great and talented group of gals, getting to know many more consultants through their blogs, and it has kept me challenged to do my best work. I won't be disappearing, though - I intend to be a player in the weekly challenges as often as possible. This week we have a colour challenge:
I decided to use this colour palette to make a set of Thank-you cards for one of my daughter's teachers as an end of the year gift, so I put together 6 different 4"x4" cards and made a matching holder:
We have our June guest designer, Jena Devries joining us this week, so check out the blog to see what Jena and the rest of the design team have created to inspire you. We would love to have you play along with the challenge, just be sure to use some Close To My Heart products in your creation, and link it up to the Heart2Heart blog. You could win one of the 2 monthly prize packs, or be chosen as one of our monthly Top Ten! Thanks to everyone for all of your lovely comments and support over the past six months, and an even bigger thank-you to Mary Vogel, who does such a wonderful job with the H2H blog :o)
Supplies used: Cardstock is Barn Red, Bamboo & Colonial White; Inks are Bamboo, Barn Red & Dutch Blue; Stamp sets are Simple Memories, Universal Backgrounds, You're Invited, Card Chatter - thanks, and Gracious Greetings; Indian Corn Blue Waxy Flax; Brads, Spiral Clip, Buttons & Gems are Summer Celebration Mini Medley; - all CTMH!

I went with predominantly bamboo & barn red with colonial white, and just added touches of dutch blue - mainly through accessories. Here are some close-ups of the cards:
