Simon Says Stamp Exclusive from Art Impressions!

The Art Impressions Design Team are all sharing projects of the Ai Exclusive set for Simon Says Stamp - available exclusively on the SSS website.  I know there are a bunch of Matchbook fans out there, so you're going to love this one!  Here is 5950 - Christmas Town MBE:

If you aren't familiar with the Matchbooks (you can find them on the Ai site here!), they are tiny - less than 2" square.  And even though they have quite a 3D appearance, they fold flat, and can be put into the tiny matching envelope - scroll down to see mine.
I've used the brand new 5962 - Classic Christmas PP papers, and coloured up my scene in coordinating Copic marker colours.  A few Stickles were added to the trees and lamppost.
In order to put the Matchbook set together, you will need the 5318 - MB Envelope Dies (shown here), and they come with these cute little envelope and tag dies, plus a few others.  The other set required is 5317 - MB Template Die, which is the 'house' base with that little scalloped edge.
My second card is the CAS version!  Who says the set is just to be used as a Matchbook?  I stamped and coloured just the main background of houses, and the small trees, and created an inked sky for them to sit against.
You could trim the houses and glue them down flat, but I liked the 3D idea.  For mailing, the houses can just be flattened before you put them in a regular A2 sized envelope.
Check out the Ai blog to see what the rest of the design team has to share, and there will be more artwork on the SSS blog, too.

Art Impressions Stamptember!

Yes, it's Stamptember time again - and Art Impressions has an exclusive stamp set available through Simon Says Stamp.  The Ai Design Team are all posting projects today, so you can check out the Ai blog or social media, along with the post on the SSS blog.  I created two cards using this cute set, this is SSE24A - Sweet Bday:

I've had that Doodlebug donut paper for years!  So I was thrilled to be able to put it to good use, and based my colour choices on the paper.

How could I not make a donut shaped card?  I used my Coluzzle templates that I haven't used in years, to cut the large circle - it's about 5 1/8" diameter.  The image was coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut out.
The edges of the donut were shaded with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink, and I used my Copics to shade around the blue icing.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white on chocolate cardstock, then adhered with 3D foam adhesive.  I *almost* added some beads around the icing to look like sprinkles... but thought it was getting too busy.
This is the second image included in the set, and it was perfect to allow that patterned paper to shine!  After fussy cutting, the image is adhered with 3D foam adhesive.
Remember to check out all the inspiration on the Simon Says Stamp blog, and don't wait to purchase the set, the exclusives tend to sell out quickly!

Stamptember with Art Impressions!

I am excited to be participating in the launch of Art Impressions' collaboration with Simon Says Stamp to have this sweet stamp set as part of their Stamptember celebration!  Here is SSE23A Apple Cider Set:

I started by stamping her on masking paper and cardstock, cutting it out, and covering my stamped image with the mask.  I used Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks to blend my background - then sprinkled it with water, as well as white and grey paint to created a little background interest.  I removed the mask, and coloured up with Copic markers.  For her cute capris, I stamped them onto some Graphic 45 paper, fussy cut them out and adhered them to my base.  I cut the image out with my rectangular die, and added the sentiment with Versamark Onyx Black ink.  I raised the panel on foam adhesive before attaching it to my blue background, and added a few red enamel dots.

This set is only available through Simon Says Stamp - while quantities last!  And they usually go pretty quick, so head over to their site and grab yours now.  The set comes with two images, and four sentiments.  Great for fall birthdays or maybe even a teacher card?  The whole Ai team has cards to share, so check out the Ai blog for inspiration, as well as the SSS site.

New Simon Says Stamp Exclusive set!

I'm excited to be sharing a card made with the Art Impressions exclusive stamp set that is available only through Simon Says Stamp!  Here is SSE22C Fab-yule-ous Friends:

I coloured this trio of gals as brightly as I could with my Copic markers, and created a soft ink blended background using Distress Oxide colours Spun Sugar and Blueprint Sketch.  I cut a hillside from Lawn Fawn's Hillside Border dies, and Art Impressions 5353 - Lg Snowflake Dies were arranged around the edges.  The ladies and sentiment are popped up with 3D foam adhesive, as is the whole square panel, then mounted on a white card base.
Check out the Art Impressions blog today to see all the wonderful inspiration from the whole Design Team - as well as the SSS blog.

Home & Heart

Here's my second card made with the sweet Simon Says Stamp Exclusive set from Art Impressions, called 5546 - Home & Heart Set:

I used my Copic Markers to colour this sweet image, mounted it on some patterned papers that have been in my stash for awhile, and added a few enamel dots.

Only available on the SSS website, while supplies last.

Exclusive Art Impressions Christmas Train!

You're going to want to hurry on over to the Simon Says Stamp website to get the limited edition Christmas Train stamp and die set by Art Impressions.  This was SO fun to colour!

Using my Misti, I die cut, then stamped each of the images, and coloured them up with my Copic markers.  I loved the pretty sky made by Lynn Dionne a few weeks ago on the Ai blog, so I did my ink blended version using Distress Oxide inks, then spattered it with white paint to look like a starry sky.
I arranged all the little pieces where I wanted them and glued them down, then attached it over my stitched hillside with some 3D foam adhesive.  A little festive sentiment went in the top corner.  These usually sell out pretty quickly, so go check it out now on the SSS website!

Art Impressions & Stamptember!

Art Impressions has created an exclusive custom stamp set for Simon Says Stamp as part of the Stamptember celebrations!  The Ai Design Team are all sharing projects today to help kick off the launch, along with a few projects on the SSS blog.  Here is what I came up with using "To Perfection":

A classic Ai Girlfriends stamp!  I used the pretty Heart of Home papers by Jen Hadfield, and was trying to make it look like the gal on the right is drinking a glass of rose wine, but it looks more like pink lemonade!!  Oh well, you get the idea...
The stamp can only be purchased over on the SimonSaysStamp.com site - so head over and grab it while you can :o)  Visit the SSS blog today to see inspiration from the rest of the Ai Design Team.

My top 5 Art Impressions cards of 2015

Oh, my goodness - another year has flown by.  So many cards, so little time...  As always, I've had a wonderful time posting here and on the Ai blog, and colouring up all those fabulous Ai images.  I really enjoy putting these kinds of posts together, because I literally revisit every single card that I posted this year.  I could've easily come up with a Top 25 list - but after much deliberation, here are my Top 5 of 2015:
Using Live Laugh Love (available at Michael's stores)
Simon Says Stamp exclusive Stamptember set
I hope you've enjoyed some inspiration from our projects that we share - and I want to thank those of you who visit me here and on the Ai blog, play along with our challenges and leave us such lovely comments!  Enjoy the holiday season, and best wishes for a Happy New Year!

Exclusive Ai STAMPtember set!

Woo Hoo!  Art Impressions is very excited to be launching a Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamp set to help celebrate STAMPtember!  This Ai Girlfriends set is called Dance It Out Set - and is available for purchase NOW on the SSS site - you can find it HERE.  To help get the party started, the Ai Design team have been making cards to show off this great new set - here's what I came up with:
The set comes with this fun image, and 3 sentiments.  "Hips don't lie" absolutely cracked me up... can't you hear Shakira playing in the background??  Here's what the set looks like:

I made my card as a 5 3/4" square, did a little zigzag stitching with my sewing machine, added some die cut shapes and then popped up my image after fussy cutting around the dancing girlfriends.  A few enamel dots, and that's it!  Here's a closeup:
