Quilted Cards

I adore making sewing themed cards!  I pulled out the gorgeous October Afternoon 'Farmhouse' papers (from many moons ago...), and got busy die cutting.

The frames and squares are the Quilted Frames Dies from Waffle Flower - a little finicky to assemble (don't look too close!), but the result is so lovely.

I used the Needleworker Tool Kit dies from Spellbinders to cut out all the notions - using some brushed silver cardstock for the metallic items.

I had some already pressed sentiments using the You Are Everything Betterpress plate, done on cream cardstock with black ink, and added them with some foam adhesive.

Another Quilted Frame

I posted a card a few weeks ago using the Quilted Frames Die from Waffle Flower, and forgot to post this one that I made the next day!

These are the pretty Persimmon papers from Basic Grey (many moons ago...).  I am using the larger quilt square die that comes with the frame die set, which I cut out of four different patterned papers, then reassembled them onto a square of navy cardstock.  This was definitely fiddly to assemble!  But I am happy with my results.

I hadn't intended to put it on the diagonal, until I realized that the background paper was oriented that way, and I ended up loving it!  I added some rose gold scissors from the Spellbinder's Needleworker die set, and a copper sentiment from Spellbinder's You Are Everything Sentiments plate.

Quilted Frames & a sketch

I am playing along with the July sketch offered in the Papercrafts Inner Circle group on Facebook.  The focal part of the sketch reminded me of a quilt block, so I pulled out my Quilted Frames dies from Waffle Flower and got die cutting.

This is an ancient paper pack from Basic Grey called Persimmon!  I thought it had a bit of a quilt vibe, so picked out a few papers that went well together and used the larger square to cut each of them out, then mixed and matched them to create my quilt look.

The sentiment is a Betterpress set: You Are Everything Sentiments from Spellbinders, pressed in metallic Copper Pot ink from Lisa Horton Crafts.

Be sure to check out the Facebook group when you get a chance.

You're Sew Amazing!

It's my sister's birthday today!  I stenciled up this panel using the Rose Tapestry stencils from The Greetery with Distress Oxide inks many months ago, and have been collecting sewing themed products since then - so finally got it made up into a card.

I ran my panel through my die cut machine with the Starshine Background cover plate from Spellbinders, to give it a bit of texture, then added the Waffle Flower Quilted Frames Die cut from bright blue cardstock, to make it look like a quilt - and mounted it on a coordinating green cardstock.

It's my first time using the Needleworker Tool Kit dies from Spellbinders, so I cut out the spool, needle and scissors to coordinate.

I pulled out the small alphabet dies from Art Impressions to spell out my inside greeting, as I didn't own it in stamp form.  Loving sewing themed cards lately, so you'll be seeing more from me this summer :-)
