Owls

We have friends who have a granddaughter who is not quite two... that has a thing for owls!  How cute.  She mentioned that she had sent her an owl card in the mail, so I knew that I'd be diving into my craft supplies to find some images from Art Impressions that I'd stamped out years ago.  Anyone remember the Whoots?  I have two cards using the larger Whoot stamps (done in strong bright colours!), and I had one of the tiny Front & Back owls stamped out for my third card.

The Front & Backs work best with a cutout, and they're so small that you really need to create a scene around them.  I pulled out some dies to add a branch and a bunch of leaves in patterned paper.  Since it was showing through to the inside, I added a bunch there as well.

Such a fun project!

Operation Write Home Memorial Day blog hop

I am not part of the OWH Memorial Day blog hop... but my card is!  This is an annual event on the OWH blog, and Art Impressions is participating, along with a whole host of others.  You can find the Ai post here, and join up with the hop from there - there are some amazing prizes being given away, so you'll want to check it out.    Being Memorial Day in the States, there is a red, white & blue theme, so I made up a birthday card using Birthday Whoot:

Copics used: Owl - E57, E55, E53, E51, C1, Y26, Y23, YR12
Hat - R24, R22, R20, B26, B24, B21, C3, C1
Twig - E37, E35, E33

A Little Birthday Whoot!

Hello Ai fans!
It's Karen here, and being the only Canuck on the design team, since yesterday was Canada's 146th birthday (July 1st!), I decided to make a birthday card using some Canadian colours for my post on the Art Impressions blog :o)  I've used the adorable Birthday Whoot Set (sku#4125):
I've made a 5 1/2" square card with a kraft paper base, and I popped up the sentiment so that the Baker's Twine could slip underneath.  Here's a close up:
And the Copics I used:
Happy Tuesday, everyone!
