Dictionary card

This summer, I bought a huge dictionary for $1.00 at a used book sale...  So today I had the urge to do something a little more artsy than the norm for me.  I sponged 5 colours of ink randomly onto the page, did some tricky cutting... then tried out 3 of the paper flowers with the new Artiste Cricut cartridge.  I used Artiste to cut the vine, too - then "shadow stitched" (new technique that I thought up!) around the vine in black thread - and glued it all down with a little Baker's Twine.
Patterned papers are Lucy & Miracle - CTMH; Cardstock is Black, CTMH; Inks are Sunset, Creme Brulee, Sky, Pear & Cotton Candy - CTMH.  Baker's Twine, The Twinery.  Die cuts are from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge - CTMH.

Love this! I have a book that was so bad I won't even donate it. This is a great "use that stupid book for some good purpose" card!!

This is absolutely beautiful Karen!! I especially love the color combo and the softness of the sponged inks.
