Sketch time on Heart2Heart

Yay!  I love sketch weeks on the Heart2Heart Challenge Blog!  Mary has come up with a lovely circle image for you to try - or you can put the image onto a square or rectangular card - your choice.  My choice was to do a clear card, using one of CTMH's 4 1/2" square bases.  I've put the background and scalloped circle onto the inside of the card, and the vanilla cream circle with all the details is on the front.  I used Connie MacFarlane's instructions for making a ruched ribbon with our organdy, attached it with a little liquid glass, added a paper flower & some opaque pearls - and voila!  Photographing clear cards is a little tricky to avoid the glare, and to get a good image of it closed - so I've got a few angles to show you.
Our March guest designer Mary Gunn is joining us for her last challenge, so check out what she & the design team have made to inspire you over at the H2H blog.  Remember to use mostly CTMH products in your creation, and you may be chosen as one of our April Top Ten or even win one of the monthly prizes.

All supplies are CTMH - Patterned Paper is Bliss; Cardstock is Chocolate, Grey Mist & Vanilla Cream; Ink is Chocolate; Organdy Ribbon; Opaque Pearls; Stamp Set is From Me to You; Clear Cards 4 1/2" assortment; Corner Rounder.

All About Baby at Heart2Heart

This week at the Heart2Heart Challenge Blog - we want you to show us your baby projects!  Cards, gift items, shower decorations - whatever you like.  You should use mostly CTMH products, post your picture to your blog and link up the post to the H2H blog.  At the end of the month, we will be reviewing all posts to come up with our Monthly Top Ten, and 2 random participants will win prize packs donated by our sponsors Lori Brown and Angie Parchey.  Lori is playing along with the design team this week, so head on over and peek at all the lovely ideas we have to inspire you!  I decided to do a 9x9" layout... my brother-in-law just became a grandfather a few weeks ago, so I wanted to make him a Grandpa's brag book.  I had a 9" album kicking around, and thought that it would work perfectly.  This is going to be the opening page, and I will fill in all of Will's info on the little tag once I verify the details.  Since I don't own the new Pennant Alphabet yet, I made my own:
Patterned paper is Magnifique; Cardstock is Desert Sand & Colonial White; Kraft Color-ready borders; Chocolate ribbon round; Wooden buttons; Bamboo Bigger Brads; Cream Embroidery Floss - all CTMH. (Stamp set is from the Sept 09 promo)

A Heart2Heart Layout

Mary just posted a new layout sketch on the Heart2Heart blog... and I'm just getting the previous one posted!  There is no time limit as to when you can play, but she posts a new sketch every 2nd Thursday, so I'm trying to play along as often as I can.  I took a little creative license with the sketch, using upsy-downsy pictures, instead of horizontal ones, but the basic layout is the same.  Oh, and I should explain the caption - it actually says "Danger shots"... we go to the edge of this same creek every fall for a photo op, and my husband has always taken my kids out onto rocks in the stream to pose for pictures.  Now that they're older it's no big deal, but when they were little I used to panic thinking someone was going to fall in (it's maybe 12" deep, but the water can be very cold!)  So needless to say, every year we all pose for "Danger shots".
All supplies are CTMH - Patterned papers are Olivia; Cardstock is Cocoa, Bamboo, Colonial White & Smoothie; Inks are Pear, Smoothie & Cocoa; Stamp sets are Genuine Fun & Posterboard Alphabet; Garden Green Waxy Flax.

From Your Heart to Ours - H2H Challenge

This week at the Heart2Heart Challenge - we'd like you to share a home decor item that you make (or have already made) using CTMH products!  This made me think of a little item I'd seen floating around the boards a year or so ago... a little woven paper basket.  A Google search led me to a tutorial on SCS, so I pulled out our new Kraft paper, inked up the edges in chocolate ink, and started weaving.  The actual weaving & assembly took less than an hour - and the end result is adorable.  It stands 3 1/2" high, and I'm going to use it for different seasonal decor - with Easter just around the corner, that's where we're starting.
All supplies are CTMH - Kraft cardstock; Copper brads; 3/8" twill ribbon; Chocolate ink.
Check out what the design team has in store for you, and be sure to link up a picture of your own creation :o)
