Art Impressions 2014 Try-folds launch!
The Art Impressions design team is launching the new 2014 Try-folds stamp sets today!
If you haven't seen these before, scroll down for a good look, and be sure to visit the Art Impressions blog to see the design team's take on the different sets. As you check out my post, I think you'll get the idea that this is a bit of a time consuming style of card!! But the end results are outstanding, and your recipients will be in awe of your creative talents... so without further ado, here is Messy House TF (Sku#UM4452):
Lucky for you - all the instructions are included in your stamp set! Measurements, positioning etc. That's it for me today! This week's challenge on the Art Impressions blog is to make Operation Write Home cards in honour of their Memorial Day weekend blog hop - you can link up your creation here.

Now, this is definitely the most difficut card on the planet to photograph... so bear with me. This is the completed card, folded and tied with twine. This is how it would appear out of the envelope.
Once you untie the twine, you open first the left flap, then the right...
And finally here is the inside of the card.
Here are a few shots to show how it's put together. You start with a rectangular piece of cardstock, and score it to create 3 panels. The image of the lady and the sentiment are stamped in the center panel, a little higher up.
Flip the sheet over, and stamp the two other images close to the score lines as shown. I added glue to that center rectangle and glued it down to my base pieces.

Happy stamping everyone!

Father's Day Disco card
I have a Father's Day card to share with you today, using one of the fun Shake Your Booty sets from Art Impressions: Disco Set (Sku #4307).
My father has been known to wear... well, let's go with "bright" attire on occassion, so I thought this card would work for when he's in a bit of a goofball mood. I've used the new FDMD Set (Sku #4454) for the Father's Day sentiment. Here's the inside:
The inside sentiment comes with the Disco Set, and is: "Shake Your Booty!"
His little derriere is paper pieced and popped up on an action wobble!
I also did a version without the Father's Day sentiment, that can be used for a birthday or other occassion.

Shades: C7, C5, C3
Shirt: YR16, YR15, YR12, Y17, Y13

Introducing, Dr. Matlock
There was much excitement in our family last week, when my nephew was accepted to Med school in BC! We're all pretty proud of him, and so I needed a graduation card to fit the occassion. You may have seen this idea on Pinterest like I did (you can see Melike's original post here! She gives instructions.)

Operation Write Home Memorial Day blog hop
I am not part of the OWH Memorial Day blog hop... but my card is! This is an annual event on the OWH blog, and Art Impressions is participating, along with a whole host of others. You can find the Ai post here, and join up with the hop from there - there are some amazing prizes being given away, so you'll want to check it out. Being Memorial Day in the States, there is a red, white & blue theme, so I made up a birthday card using Birthday Whoot:

She's a fun one:
Our challenge on the Art Impressions blog this week is to use a button on your project, so I've added five clear ones to the bottom of my card. We hope you'll join us, as there are always great prizes to be won - you can link up your project here! Now here's the same card that I made for the Art Impressions booth at CHA using a brighter palette:
Next up is Crown Set (Sku #4370) and she's a keeper:
Don't you just love the sentiment for this one?! I've cut her out and popped her up with 3D pop dots, and added a little stitching around the cream shapes:
Your next stop on the hop is Kerry's blog, or you can see the whole list on the Ai blog here, you won't want to miss any of the wonderful inspiration on show today!
Happy stamping everyone!

Goldie Golfer
I am posting on the Art Impressions blog today!
After our long, cold winter, the golf courses around here are slowly starting to open. I'm from a big family of golfers, and have golfed since I was about ten years old! (I even used to design golf clothes when I lived in New York city!) So... golf themed cards are pretty fun for me to make. I made this one for my sister's birthday using Goldie Golfer (Sku #4324):
My sister is much more of a die-hard golfer than I am, so I think she'll love it. Here's a close-up of Goldie:
Don't forget about our Cute as a Button challenge - we want to see your cards including a button or two as embellishments, and be sure to visit the Ai blog on Thursday when we're launching the 2014 Ai People with a blog hop!

Two cards for three challenges.
I've had a couple of evenings to just enjoy playing along with a few challenges, and have both cards ready to post tonight. The first is for the Verve blog's May inspiration challenge "Font Focus" so I've used one of my all time fave Verve sets, Words of Wisdom with a few hints of the newer Better Together set stamped around the edges. I've used the sketch from The Challenge #6 by Lesley Croghan:
My second card is using the sketch from the current "Seize the Sketch" challenge, using an Art Impressions Coffee BFF's image:
First card: Patterned papers are Baby Jane, Cosmo Cricket; Cardstock is Tulip, CTMH; Inks are Whisper, CTMH and Tuxedo Black, Memento; Stamp sets are Words of Wisdom & Better Together, Verve; Twine is American Crafts.
Second card: Patterned papers are Woodland Park, October Afternoon; Ink is Tuxedo Black, Memento; Copic Markers; Twine is American Crafts; Verve Pennant Trim die.

Little Stinker
I am posting on the Art Impressions blog today.
I have been having fun making baby cards the last couple of days, using the Ai Little People sets. I have one using the cute Little Stinker (Sku #4318) to share with you - I have used this week's Retro Sketch:
For a lot of people, babies mean pastel colours... but I'll reach for my bright and fun papers any day of the week! I made it a top fold card so that I could wrap some twine around the top of the card, and I popped the sentiment up with a pop dot. I stitched the orange banner down with my sewing machine. Here's a close up of the Little Stinker:
You still have one more day to participate in our Masculine/Anything Goes challenge! And we'll have a brand new challenge up for you on Thursday. Happy stamping!

Goldie Golfer!
Hello everyone! While you are looking at my card... I am attending the National Scrapbooking Day Crop at the OCS store in Bolton! If you happen to be joining me, be sure to stop by and say hello :o) I am from a family of golfers, so when I see golf themed cardmaking supplies, I get a little excited! I am using Goldie Golfer from Art Impressions, whom I love - I especially like her rather arrogant pose on the golf green:
I may have squealed out loud when I was viewing Lora's preorders for Memory Box dies this spring, and I spotted this little Golf Club Landscape die... see the little golf flag up on the hill? Yup, had to have it.
It's pretty rare for me to not use any patterned paper on a card, but as I wanted to create a little scene, I just used some die cut clouds, the landscape die and I hand cut a golf green for her to stand on. Another new gadget in my craft room is the Gift Bag Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers, so I used it to make a little gift bag to hold a sleeve of golf balls. (You can find the WRMK punch boards in the OCS store here!) It took just a few minutes to make, using just a 7" x 11" piece of cardstock - and voila! I have a matching gift bag.
Don't forget that our May Challenge on the OCS blog is "Anything Goes + an Embellishment", any stamped image is fine, just no digis please! I am practically embellishment-challenged, since I have a pretty clean style, but I managed to sneak a couple of blue glass dots onto my card today!

I added a little Hero banner with some Baker's Twine and a few die cut gears. Here's the sentiment that I've used on the inside:
Head on over to the Art Impressions blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has to share. We'd also love to have you participate in our Masculine Card Challenge.
