Art Impressions Beanie Whoot card

It's my Tuesday post on the Art Impressions blog today, and I have another sweet little owl card for you, using the Beanie Whoot Set (sku#4127).  His cute beanie hat made me think "soft & fuzzy", so I went for soft colours and a little bit of sparkle on my card:
I love using clear buttons on my creations, so I made a bit of a bubbly-looking trail with them, and I added some glitter to the pom-poms on his hat to pick up the sparkle in the ribbon.  I stitched around each of the panels on my sewing machine with cream thread before assembling my card:
There are three sayings that come in the Beanie Whoot Set - I chose this one that will work for a number of different occassions:
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

I used this week's Inspired By challenge #85 as my inspiration:

Happy Birthday Glitzy!

This was a special request birthday card for one of my daughter's friends... so I pulled out all the stops to make a glitzy, girly birthday card to fit the occassion.  Happy Birthday, Glitzy!

Deconstructed Sketch #110 and Inspired By #84

This is my second post for today - to see my Art Impressions card, please scroll down!
Most of my recent posts have been heavy on the colouring - so it was a nice change to make a card that was heavy on the patterned papers instead!  I've used the current Deconstructed Sketch, and Laurel's cool vintage luggage photo at Inspired By as my inspiration.  I sponged the edges with a little Desert Sand ink to soften it up a bit, and give it more of a vintage vibe:
Patterned papers are Cosmo Cricket, Tea for Two; Cardstock & ribbon - Key Ingredients kit; Sentiment is Borderline, Verve; Ink is Desert Sand, CTMH; Hemp & button, CTMH.

A Stair Step Card

I'm up on the Art Impressions blog today!
I have a stair-step card for you, featuring one of the Ai Clear sets: Golfers (sku#CS3467)
This is one of the less elaborate versions of a stair step card - (I know that my card is pretty busy!  But the design of the card itself is pretty simple).  Here's a bit more of a side view:
There are plenty of clear templates for stair step cards if you search for them on Pinterest.  My base is 5 1/2" x 10 1/2".  Up from the shorter side, score your base at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 4 1/2", 6" and 8 1/4".
Here it is folded:
I coloured my golfers and cut them out in a circle shape, then zigzag stitched around them with my sewing machine.  While surfing through Pinterest, I also came up with the idea to create a little pennant banner over their heads, so I stamped the word "FORE"onto matted triangles, then used liquid glass to attach them to a string of Baker's Twine tied between two toothpicks:
I created a little putting green for the second stair, and glued the flag onto it, then glued the sentiment onto the first stair.  Here's a close up of those fabulous plus-4's that I paper pieced:
Happy stamping everyone!

Mojo Monday #302

There is a great sketch this week on Mojo Monday that I wanted to play along with - perfect for a larger image... so I pulled out Rockin' Ruby from Art Impressions and some Penny Black papers that I can't seem to stop using:
Fairly clean & simple (pretty much my style exactly!), and the inside sentiment says "You Rock!".  Here are the Copics I used on Ruby:

Patterned papers are Madison by Penny Black, Cardstock is Dutch Blue & White Daisy, CTMH; Ink is Tuxedo Black, Memento; Copic Markers; Baker's Twine, The Twinery; Spiral clip, CTMH; Stamp set is Rockin' Ruby, Art Impressions Rubber Stamps.

Art Impressions Twine Time challenge

About a month ago, I came across this fabulous Bo Bunny paper that is striped on one side, Bingo cards on the other.  Even though my "Bingo Jean" stamp set (sku#L3501) hadn't yet arrived in the mail, I knew this was a match made in heaven.  The current challenge on the Art Impressions blog is called "Twine Time", so I added a little Baker's Twine to my projects.  Jean lends herself nicely to a circle shape, so I decided to make both a circle and a square card to show her off:

Here are a few details to show the Baker's Twine on each card:
Here are the Copics that I used:
There are wonderful prizes to be won, so pull out your twine, and come join our challenge on the Art Impressions blog - happy stamping!

Birdie & Eggnus

It's my day to post on the Art Impressions blog.
I had SO much fun making today's card!  Next to card making, knitting is my big hobby - so when I find a knitting themed stamp - I'm a happy girl :o)  Today's card features Birdie & Eggnus (sku#U1836),  and since "Twine Time" is our current Ai challenge theme, I decided to knit with a little Baker's Twine, and add it to my card:
I started by casting on four stitches onto 2.75mm knitting needles, and I knit about 5 rows.  Then I transfered the stitches onto these little toothpicks that I found at a dollar store - the ends of them are shaped which make them look a lot like tiny knitting needles.
I love that Ai stamps come packaged with a full colour illustration (which I pretty much copied exactly!)  These just happen to be the first chickens that I've ever coloured, and it was so helpful to have a picture to go by.  Here are Birdie & Eggnus before I added the knitting:
A few of the details:
And the Copics that I used:
Happy stamping everyone :o)

Sketchbook Saturday #100 & Case Study #148

If you've never tried Sketchbook Saturday before... check it out here!  Iwona does fabulous sketches every second Saturday, and her blog is pretty fabulous, too - tons of inspiration.  I took this week's sketch fairly literally, and used the pretty butterfly card at CASE Study (also owned by Iwona!) and their pretty colour combo as my starting point.  This is a very CAS card for me!  No patterned paper or cardstock, and other than the butterfly & flower that I've cut out, it's a one layer card.
Here is our sketch:
And our CASE Study inspiration:
Stamp sets are In The Background, Card Word Puzzle & It's Your Day; Cardstock is White Daisy & Topiary; Inks are Black & Hollyhock - all Close To My Heart; Copic Markers; Meadow Leaf die, Memory Box.

Rockin' Ruby

It's my day posting on the Art Impressions blog...  so I'm bringing you a summery card featuring the lovely Rockin' Ruby Set (sku#4210).
Isn't she great?!  The inside of the card has the sentiment:
And here's a close up shot of the little circle that I popped up with a pop dot to give the card a little dimenstion:
I've used this week's Deconstructed Sketch as my card design:
   Have a great day!

A Little Birthday Whoot!

Hello Ai fans!
It's Karen here, and being the only Canuck on the design team, since yesterday was Canada's 146th birthday (July 1st!), I decided to make a birthday card using some Canadian colours for my post on the Art Impressions blog :o)  I've used the adorable Birthday Whoot Set (sku#4125):
I've made a 5 1/2" square card with a kraft paper base, and I popped up the sentiment so that the Baker's Twine could slip underneath.  Here's a close up:
And the Copics I used:
Happy Tuesday, everyone!
