Graduation

It's been an exciting week in the Day household... by son graduated with an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University yesterday.  I'm a pretty proud Mom.  Now, if you follow my blog at all, you'll know that I like bright & fun cards... you won't find anything too deep or dignified.  So with that in mind, here is the graduation card that I made for Adam:
I was trolling through my stamp collection... and came across the Crazy Bird accessory stamps that include the scroll & mortarboard, so here's what I came up with!  This little guy is my favourite Crazy Bird, so I coloured him up with my Copic markers, then cut out around his wing and tucked the scroll underneath it.  Here's a photo of me & my graduate:

Graduation card

My daughter graduated from high school this week - as an Ontario Scholar, and winning two scholarships, so we are pretty proud parents :o)  Here's the card that I made to celebrate the occasion using Verve's Words of Wisdom:
Patterned paper is Doodlebug Designs; Stamp set is Words of Wisdom, Verve; Dies are Pippi Butterfly & Tupelo Circle, Memory Box; Cardstock is Pear, Glacier, Close To My Heart.

Graduation card

I am posting on the Art Impressions blog today!  With my daughter graduating from high school in a few weeks, I am in need of quite a few graduation cards for she & her friends.  I wanted something that was fairly easy to reproduce, but still fun and a little bit sparkly.  Art Impressions has a lovely collection of graduation stamps - and  Reach for the Stars (Sku #4292) fit my needs perfectly:
I coloured the star and heart with Copic markers, and coated them with a little Wink of Stella for some shimmer.  Then I added some irridescent sequins and clear micro beads to make it into a shaker card.  If you look closely, you'll see that I used the small yellow star from the die cut - adding it into the shaker mix as well.
 Copics used were Y19 & YR16
Happy stamping!

Introducing, Dr. Matlock

There was much excitement in our family last week, when my nephew was accepted to Med school in BC!  We're all pretty proud of him, and so I needed a graduation card to fit the occassion.  You may have seen this idea on Pinterest like I did (you can see Melike's original post here! She gives instructions.)
