I had a very fun play day recently with the Amber Ledgers Magical Powders from Lindy's. I'm not generally a messy style of crafter, but these weren't that bad! They come in individual shakers filled with powder - a set of five.
I sprinkled multiple colours onto some Canson XL Watercolour paper, then spritzed with water, and simply let the powders melt, watching the pigments blend and move around.
Where there was just powder, I added more water. And if an area was too sparse, I added more powder and spritzed again.
I wanted fairly intense colours - and got them! I worried that I'd gone overboard, but they brightened up once my panels had dried. I used various dies to cut out my panels, and then had to flatten them under a heavy book to reduce the warping.
I had thought that the brown would be my least used colour, but it turned out to be this amazing copper shade - and as everything dried, I couldn't believe the shimmer! It led me to trying to add some leaves hot foiled in copper, wondering if I could hot foil on top of the powders. While the results weren't perfect (watercolour paper isn't ideal for foiling), the slightly distressed look of the foiling fit the overall vibe of the cards.
