Glam Flourish & Vine

My second project using the December Betterpress Society plate, 'Flourish & Vine' has a bit of a glam thing going on...

I pressed the plate onto some pale mossy green cardstock using Lisa Horton's metallic Solid Gold ink, then pressed it again on a couple of scraps of the same paper.

I used the included die to cut out the center of the heart, and fussy cut out a bunch of sprigs or individual leaves from the scrap pieces.

I adhered them onto my main panel, allowing the edges to curl up for a little texture.

I used my new Glimmer machine to hot foil one of the sentiments onto a square of the same cardstock.  My main panel was cut down with a stitched edge rounded rectangle die that was just a little smaller than A2 size, and was attached to my brushed gold cardstock base with 3D foam adhesive.  I made sure that the sentiment was centered under where the heart opening would appear.

A few gold pearls finished things off nicely!  You can get a Betterpress Society subscription from The Papercrafter's Workshop.

Flourish & Vine Valentine

My third project with the December Betterpress Society plate, Flourish & Vine is going to be my husband's Valentine!  The lovely heart shape makes a very elegant one, and I had the idea to do cardstock strips under the opening.

I wanted rainbow order, and in my head this was more of a pastel look, but ended up being dusty looking shades (which I'm good with!).  I adhered the strips onto an A2 sized piece of black cardstock.

The image was pressed with Betterpress Black ink onto some warm grey cardstock, and I pressed the sentiment from the Sealed Cord and Faux Seal Sentiments set.

I used my Art Impressions Rounded Edge Stitched Rectangle die to trim down my panel a little, and adhered it to the base with some thin 3D foam adhesive.  A few iridescent jewels finished it off.

Flourish & Vine

What a fun plate we have as the December Betterpress Society set!  It is called Flourish & Vine.  I usually start with a tutorial project, but just wanted to get a quick card made up with this pretty plate.

I wanted to do some ink blending that would make the heart image shine!  I've done a similar ink blend before on a Pebble Cotton Card Panel (pale grey), so I pulled out my Distress Oxide inks and did a background blend in the shape of the heart.

I pressed the image in Betterpress Black ink, then painted in each of the leaves with some shimmery pewter paint - it's very subtle, but shows more in person.

I trimmed a little off my A2 panel, and mounted it on some black cardstock.  A few iridescent gems added even more sparkle!
