Paige's Wreath

I have yet another version of the arch shaped wreath card that I posted last week.  Those were showing off the wax seals, this one is just to show the pretty wreath, and is a birthday card for my daughter.  This is the Fall Wreath from the vault by Tim Holtz/Sizzix - and this one is using all kinds of the bits and pieces that come in this die set.

I am really loving shades of blue on my fall cards this year.  The shaped dies are Essential Arches by Spellbinders, and the sentiment is created with my Betterpress machine using It's Your Day press plates, and the Spellbinders Treasured Gold cardstock.  Happy Birthday, B!

Fall Wreath

I was playing with my Gansai Tambei Watercolours a few weeks ago, after cutting out this pretty wreath from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of Canson XL Watercolour Paper.  This is 2079: Fall Wreath & Owl.

After painting, and spattering with black paint, I cut about 1/3 of the wreath off, and adhered it to my patterned card base as shown, after inking the edges of my paper.  It's actually Christmas paper!  But it worked well for my fall card.

I made a wax seal using Spellbinders Timeless Blooms Wax Seal Stamp and Matcha wax, then used a Decopaint gold marker to highlight the design.  I adhered it to the wreath over a swirl of gold mettalic thread.  I gold embossed a sentiment under the seal, and added a few gold pearls.

World Cardmaking Day

Happy World Cardmaking Day!  It was actually two days ago, and I had most of my card assembled - but finally got it completed and photographed today.

I have a nice mix of products from several companies: Background die is Dotted Tile from Altenew, the frame is Slim Ornate Banner from Pinkfresh Studio, and the leaves are Fall Wreath from Pigment Craft Company.  The Perfect Sentiments stamp and die are also by Pinkfresh.

I've seen such amazing, pretty colour combos on cards for fall leaves this year, that I had fun mixing a bunch of Distress Oxide inks in Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Wild Honey and Pelled Paint.

Small Fall Wreath card

 I'm using the smaller wreath included in the Fall Wreath stamp and die set from Pigment Craft Co. today, to make a fall masculine birthday card (it's just masculine in that I'm giving it to a guy!):

This is a 2-part stamp set, so I used my sponge daubers and 5 colours of Distress Oxide inks on the leaves to get my fall ombre effect, and then stamped the frame/veins in a neutral ink.  I die cut the shape out, along with 2 others which I layered to give my wreath a little bit of depth.  I kept my card simple, as I really wanted the wreath to shine... and guys generally don't go for fussy cards!  I stamped out my sentiment and attached it with some 3D foam adhesive, offsetting it a little to balance the open part of the wreath.

Fall Wreath

I am really loving everything from the Pigment Craft Co. lately!  I picked up a few things from their fall release, and am using the Fall Wreath stamp set and die today, along with the Sweater Season Sentiments:

I used Sorbet, Creme Brulee and Garden Green cardstock from CTMH, and Creme Brulee ink for the sentiment.  I love that the wreath dies can be used on their own, with just the veins (as I've done here), or with the stamp set.  I was able to sort of interlock the different pieces to put my wreath together.

 I used my sewing machine to add a line of stitching around my kraft base - finished card is 5 1/2" square.

Fall Wreath

I've been playing with more of my new product from the Pigment Craft Company this week.  This is the Fall Wreath set.  I've just used the die that matches the stamp set today, it works beautifully on it's own to cut out the different wreath shapes.  I pulled out the years-old Chloe's Closet papers from Making Memories, and die cut a bunch of different patterns:

A bit of a softer, muted palette for me!  I used one of the ledger style papers in the set as my 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" card base, and cut a smaller square out of the middle that I mounted on kraft cardstock and adhered back down with 3D adhesive tape.

I cut the full wreath out of 4 different patterned papers that I layered over each other to form my wreath (and I had enough leftovers for a 2nd smaller version).  The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio.  I'm adding to my stash of cards to keep at work for retirements, special occasions etc. - so I'm hopeful this would work as a masculine card?  Great to make something a little different.
