Chrysanthemum Slimline

I have a slimline card to share today using the Chrysanthemum Slimline stamps and stencils.  This is such an elegant stamp, and makes up so quickly.  I had fun mixing ink colours on the blooms:

I gold embossed the Perfect Sentiments stamps and cut them out with the matching die, then added it to the card base with some foam adhesive.  The Slimline Stitched Scallop frame was layered onto several other cardstock die cuts to create a fairly substantial frame, and a couple of gold pearls finished it off.

All supplies are from Pinkfresh Studio.

Say it With Stamps

I've loved the Say it with Stamps line from Photoplay ever since it came out.  I made a couple of cards that match one I made a little while ago, and will be giving them as a gift soon.  Here is the "You" stamp and die set combined with Goldenrod paper from One Canoe Two:

Here's the card that I made it to match - using "Party" stamps and dies:

And even more Butterflies!

Another redo of my recent Butterflies cards using the Pinkfresh Studio stamp and stencil set.  Both this image and the full butterfly are together on one stamp, which is grea - since you always wind up with two images for two cards.  I created my own stencil by cutting a Taylored Expressions coverplate from scrap paper, and then made an inked background, matted them in matching colours and added some of the gold embossed Perfect Sentiments - also from Pinkfresh Studio.  Another 6 for my stash.

I am entering this into the Pinkfresh Studio August Challenge!  I created my own background, which is what their August theme is.

More Butterflies!

This is re-do on a card that I made a few months ago with the lovely Butterflies stamp and stencil set from Pinkfresh Studio.  I tried a new colour combo using their inks, and quite like it.  I got six of these made!

I used their Perfect Sentiments stamp set, stamped it several times and embossed with gold embossing powder to make a huge pile of sentiments ready for me to use.  I die cut the background coverplate from white cardstock to use as my base, then created a die cut frame in a coordinating colour to my butterfly.  Some champagne pearls were added for the butterfly's heads.

Chrysanthemums

I haven't been posting much this month - but I have been crafting like crazy!  Enjoying some new products, and getting multiples made.  Here is the new-to-me Chrysanthemum Slimline stamp set and stencil.  I love how easily this translated onto an A2 sized card:

I'd been eyeing this set for awhile, and it did not disappoint!  The stencils make it so quick and easy to colour the image in a hurry, with amazing results.  My favourite was the two-toned experiment!  I'll be doing more of these in the future.

Because I was making multiples, I stamped the Perfect Sentiments stamp set and die several times in black and gold embossed to have a huge stash of sentiments ready to add to my cards.  Stay tuned for the Slimline versions that I've been working on!  All inks, stamps and stencils are Pinkfresh Studio.

Summer Birdhouse

I will be on the Art Impressions blog this Saturday for their Watercolour Weekend post,  and I have a summery version of the newly released 5575 - Mailbox Birdhouse Set that is part of the Watercolour Journals line, today.

I inked up my birdhouse in Tombow # 969 & #565, stamped off, and then onto my Canson XL Watercolour Paper.  With my positioner, I added two birds from 4872 - WC Birds Set, and then set about building my pots.  Using the 2 vines from 4867 - WC Foliage Set 2 New I coloured just portions of them in #249, staggering them on either side.  I used two florals from 4868 - WC Flower Set 2 using #565 for the heart cluster, and #177/#703 for the stemmed florals.  After pulling out the colour from the lines of the main image, I added #526 to the pots and house, layering it darker in the shady areas, and painted in #969 on the roof and post.  Layers of #565 were added to the birds, and I dotted their eyes with my Navy Twintone marker.  Grasses from 5007 - WC Foliage Set 3 in #177 were put around the post, and softened with a damp brush.  A wash of #493 created the sky.  I used my sewing machine to stitch my panel on some contrasting cardstock, and attached it to my base with some 3D foam adhesive.

Southwestern Village

 Hello Ai Watercolour fans!

I am sharing one of the newer released images from Art Impressions today, that will be on the Ai blog for the Watercolour Weekend this Saturday.  Here is my take on 5520 - WC SW Village:

I stamped one of the images in the set on my Canson XL Watercolour paper, using #992, as I wanted a lighter image.  With my stamp positioner, I added in the two mesa images from 5198 - WC Mountain Set, making the smaller one appear as though it was farther away.  The cactus from 5196 - WC Desert Set was added to appear closer to the viewer, along with rocks from 5415 - WC Large Rocks Set.  I used these colours from my palette to paint the buildings:  912, 993,761, 885, 991, 969.  The cactus was painted with #228, #177 and #173.  Layers of warm browns including #947 were painted on the mesas along with #565 as shadows.  I used my #228 marker directly on the paper to add in some foliage, and I used my Navy Twintone marker to darken all the windows.  #493 was painted in as the sky, and washes of brown were added to the ground.  After mounting the image on brown cardstock, I spattered metallic gold paint on the edges of the card, and popped up the image with 3D adhesive.

Be sure to check out the Ai blog on Saturday to see what Dot & Tricia have to share.  Happy painting!
