The Color Dare challenge blog was started by a fellow consultant, Sarah Stone, and I've been hoping to play along - so here's my first shot! This week is a rainbow challenge... so I used an idea that I'd seen on Pinterest of stamping butterflies down the side of a card. I was going to cut off the white edge to the right of the butterflies, following the shape of their wings and then glue a piece of patterned paper underneath... but my daughter convinced me that it was great the way it is!
This was pretty CAS for me!
Cardstock is White Daisy; Stamp sets are Treasure Life & Butterfly Kiss; Inks are Black, Creme Brulee, Sorbet, Tulip, Juniper & Pacifica. - all CTMH.
I'm a little late, but still wanted to use last week's Freshly Made Sketch when I received my June Key Ingredients kit in the mail yesterday. I chalked the seashell to make it stand out a bit, after rock 'n rolling the stamp in three different inks:
Patterned papers are Summer Days, by Echo Park; ribbon & sparkles - Key Ingredients kit by Taylored Expressions; Cardstock is Tulip & White Daisy; Inks are Tulip, Sorbet & Creme Brulee; Fall Chalks; Stamp set is Quick Cards - Shell - all CTMH.
The Paper Players have a sketch challenge this week, so I dug deep into my stash of supplies and came up with some older papers and stamps for this card. I'm not an overly 'girly' cardmaker, so I actually had fun doing this one for a change:
Patterned papers are Daydream; Cardstock is Black, Lilac Mist, White Daisy & Sweet Leaf; Stamp set is Princess; Ink is Black; Prisma Glitter - all CTMH; Copic marker, Spellbinder's and Taylored Expressions dies.
I went with the square version of this week's Mojo Monday sketch. And I grabbed some papers and embellishments that have been around for a while... and had some fun roughing them up a bit around the edges:
Patterned papers, stickers and chipboard are all Miracle; Cardstock is Kraft; Stamp set is Treasure Life; Inks are Desert Sand, Sweet Leaf & Sky; Mocha Opaque Pearls - all CTMH.
I was having a difficult time with these papers & this week's Deconstructed Sketch... so I finally just walked away and made dinner - and when I came back (without making any changes!) it all magically seemed to work?! So I glued & stitched it all down and voila:
Patterned papers & sticker strip are Ambrosia, Basic Grey; Cardstock is Black & Colonial White, CTMH; Stamp set is Words of Wisdom, Verve; Ink is Tuxedo Black, Memento; Prima flowers; Licorice Opaque Pearls CTMH & Want 2 Scrap.
Patterned papers are Baby Jane Mini-Deck, Cosmo Cricket; Cardstock is Kraft & Tulip, CTMH; Stamp set is Words of Wisdom, Verve; Ink is Rich Cocoa, Memento; Mini Paper Blooms, Kaisercraft; Spellbinder's dies.
Well I guess I'm on a roll with this week's Sweet Sunday sketch as this is my second one today (please scroll down to see my first effort!) I wanted to try something completely different from my first one which was coloured with Copics & had a little paper piecing... so this time around I went with a quote from one of my favourite Verve sets:
Patterned papers are Dotty For You, CTMH; Cardstock is Grey Wool & Colonial White, CTMH; Stamp set is Words of Wisdom, Verve; Ink is Grey Wool, CTMH; Clear buttons, CTMH.
Today just happens to be my 2nd Blogaversary! Time flies when you're having fun... so here I am 366 posts later, still having a great time blogging my little heart out :o) I pulled out my Cute-a-tude Pure Innocence stamp set again this week for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - and I quite like this sketch, so I think it'll be reappearing again soon. Here's what I came up with:
and the inside:
Patterned papers are Schoolhouse, October Afternoon; Ink is Tuxedo Black, Memento; Stamp set is Cute-a-tude, My Favorite Things; Hemp, button & Black cardstock, CTMH; Prima flower; Copic Markers. Verve Vintage Oval die.
And here is the last card (for now) in my little set of four that I've made using the April Key Ingredients kit. This is the only one that I haven't used a sketch for... but once I got the 3rd card made, I was on a roll and came up with this one on my own so that I could complete my set.
And here are the four completed cards:
Patterned papers are Simple Memories - all supplies, The Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.
I'm going to share this on the Heart2Heart Challenges board this week, where the theme is Father's Day cards. This is the fun card I made for my husband with CTMH's Superheroes papers, which I just love:
Patterned papers are Superheroes; Stamp sets are Super Powers and Posterboard Alphabet; Cardstock is Black, White Daisy & Sky Blue; Durable Square Studs - all CTMH. Ink is Tuxedo Black, Memento.
I pulled out my April Key Ingredients kit to make a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketch... it's the third one in a set, and I've got the fourth sitting half finished on my craft table, so it should appear tomorrow! Meanwhile here's my take on the sketch:
Patterned paper is Fabulous by Simple Stories; Ribbon, Cardstock & Flowers - all Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.
I thought I'd try a Christmas card for a change of pace this week - especially when Lesley's Merry Monday sketch reminded me so much of Laurel's inspiration photo at Inspired By. I went with some non traditional colours & papers, and you can't see in the photo, but I added some Stickles to the little pink berries on the wreath for a little sparkle:
Patterned papers are Miss Caroline, Dolled Up by My Mind's Eye; Cardstock is Cocoa, CTMH; Stamp sets are Remarkable Wreath & Christmas Spirit, CTMH; Inks are Cocoa & Blush, CTMH; Stickles.
I've seen a number of cards using negative die cuts over the last while, and when I saw this card by Jen del Muro, I decided to try something similar. I couldn't decide how to use the Inspired By inspiration picture this week, but finally decided to do something "on a stick" and using green... and the grey/pink/green colour combo is based on this week's Paper Players challenge:
Check out the Inspired By challenge for this week - Laurel has a great prize up for grabs!
Patterned papers are Urban Prairie, Basic Grey & Dotty by CTMH; Cardstock is White Daisy & Grey Wool, CTMH; Stamp set & Pinwheel die, L'il Inker Designs; Cloud Duo dies, Taylored Expressions; Icicle border die, My Favourite Things; Baker's Twine, The Twinery; Pearl Brad, Echo Park.
I love playing along with the Heart2Heart Challenges whenever I get the chance... and this week is a "Black/white and a pop of colour" challenge. I decided to go CAS with this one, just a little stamping and a few pop dots to lift up the whole front panel. This is the first chance that I've had to ink up the March Stamp of the Month, too:
Stamp sets are Damask Tiles & Potential; Inks are Black & Pear; Cardstock is Black and White Daisy; - all CTMH; Spellbinder's die.
The Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog is celebrating their 2nd Blogaversary, and their 100th sketch! They have prizes up for grabs and a guest design spot... so take a few minutes to check them out. For my card, I've used my all-time favourite Waltzingmouse stamp set: Rescue Remedies. I'm just getting this posted under the wire, so I'll keep it short... here's my card:
A close up of my flowers & the inks that I sponged onto the tag:
