Dotty

I am posting on the Art Impressons blog today!
I have a square card to share with you, using the lovely Dotty (Sku#U2778)!  My paper choice (pink & peach chevrons?) is a little out there... but then Dotty is a little out there herself.
I have a wonderful new Wink of Stella marker that I coloured over her bloomers and hair bow to give her a little shimmer, and I added a few pink pearls around her, too.

There is still time to participate in our Trips Ahoy! Challenge... we want to see your nautical or travel themed cards - you can link up your card here.

Happy stamping everyone!

Merry Monday #92 & Freshly Made Sketch #120

I had a great time making Christmas cards today for this week's Merry Monday challenge... which was to use Chocolate, Kraft, Red & Vanilla with ribbon.  I pulled out the Classy Doily stamp, which I haven't used yet (gasp!) and coloured it up with my Copics.  I was all set to make two of them, but decided to change up the colour combo for the second one, using the Frosted papers.  I've used this week's Freshly Made Sketch for both:

Patterned papers are Mistletoe & Frosted; Cardstock is Chocolate, Kraft, Colonial White, Cocoa & Frosted Turquiose; Stamp set is Classy Doily; Chocolate/Cream striped ribbon - all Close To My Heart; Copic Markers.

Trips Ahoy - Ai Challenge #126

It's week two of the "Trips Ahoy!" challenge on the Art Impressions blog - we want to see your travel or nautical themed cards.  So I have a Girlfriends card, featuring Pedal Pushers Set (Sku#UM4238).  I also pulled out one of my most-used 6x6 paper pads, Urban Traveller by Simple Stories.  I just love the warm colours, and the patterns work great for guy cards, too.  Here's my card:
I cut out some of the mini bingo cards that came with the pack, and then popped up the image over some Baker's Twine.  Here's a closeup:

And the inside:

Check out the cards from the entire design team over on the Ai blog, and be sure to enter the challenge, there are always great prizes to be won!

Artiste Valentines

I am posting on the Art Impressions blog today...
Time is inching closer to Valentine's Day... so I've put together a few goodies to help inspire you for the big day!  I'm using the Boy Cupid Set (Sku#4219), and I've made a couple of cupcake picks and a matching card:

This little fella is so sweet, so I wanted to make one of the picks with just a heart that he could aim his arrow towards:

I used my Cricut to cut out the red doily shapes from cardstock, as well as the matching cupcake liners, and hearts.

I tied some Baker's twine onto the picks, and glued small red hearts onto the ends.

I cut fairly close around the image, and pop dotted him over some silver glitter paper.  Here is the matching card that is 5" square:

And finally the inside:

Happy stamping everyone!

Viva La Verve Valentine

I am using the sketch from the Viva La Verve week #2 challenge for January... using one of my fave Valentine sets, Wings of Love.  I usually gravitate towards red when I make Valentines, but the background striped paper has soft smudgy pink hearts all over it which got me going in a pink direction.  I am entering it into Verve's January Diva Dare "Smitten" as well:
Here's a close-up of the heart that I paper pieced, and covered with coarse glitter:

Patterned papers are Head Over Heels Collection by Bo Bunny and Lucy, Close To My Heart; Cardstock is Black & White Daisy; Stamp set is Wings of Love, Verve; Vintage Oval die, Verve; Copic Markers.

Mojo Monday #328

I'm still working on adding a few generic birthday cards to my stash, so I wanted to make a guy card this time using this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  Although according to my daughter, this is not a guy card (it's not quite this limey in person!)... too funny.  I'm sure I'll find some guy who'll like it :o)
Patterned papers are Marjolaine, Basic Grey; Cardstock is Cocoa, CTMH; Ink and brads are Cocoa, CTMH;  Stamp set is Birthday to You, Verve; Classy Label die, Verve.

Action Wobble Valentines

Have you seen the new Art Impressions Valentine sets that were just released??  They're wonderful, and you can see them *here*.  There are six new sets, and 3 sweet sentiments... and I have four of the new sets to share with you today!  Caution - many photos ahead...
These are what I call the Ai Hugs sets  :o)  They were designed so that you not only receive the full image, but you also get a stamp of just the torso, that you pop up on an Action Wobble, and it gives the impression that the image is hugging itself!  So without further ado, here is the sweet Has Hugz Set (Sku#4362):
and here's a closeup where you can see the top of the kitty popped up:

And here is the Bear Hug Set (Sku#4361):

And now for the Main Squeeze Set (Sku#4360) :

Thanks for bearing with me through all the photos... but I'm not done yet, here are a couple of set shots.  Happy stamping, everyone!

January Diva Dare & Deconstructed Sketch

I made a valentine for my daughter today, using the Deconstructed Sketch, and playing along with the January Diva Dare on the Verve blog, which is to use a heart on your creation, and their Inspiration hop challenge is to have "shimmer and shine" on your card.  So here's my effort using Verve's Wings of Love set:
and a closeup of my heart:
