Freshly Made Sketches #404

A few more simple Christmas cards using this week's Freshly Made Sketch.  They are lovely and flat for mailing!

 I edged each of the branch layers with a little glue and sprinkled liberally with chunky glitter:

Freshly Made Sketches #400

So happy to use the final sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches #400 celebration!  And even better, I made a Christmas card to add to my stash:

I bought two sheets of these Colourful Christmas papers from My Mind's Eye during a Christmas in July sale, and thought they'd work perfectly with the sketch.  I used my sewing machine to stitch the snowman panel onto a grey mat, and zigzagged the polka dot paper onto my card base.  A few colourful snowflakes & some bubble gems and it's done.  Congrats to FMS!  Love this challenge blog.

Freshly Made Sketches #400!

I'm so happy to be playing along with the 400th sketch on Freshly Made Sketches this week!  In 2019, my challenge participation has been few & far between, but for years, this has been one of my favourite challenges.  (Scroll down to see the first time I used this sketch for their 100th challenge!)  *I am a day late in playing along with Inspired By, but I used it as my theme inspiration.  Here's what I came up with:

This Freshly Made sketch was their first ever challenge sketch, and also their 100th!  I knew when I saw it that I'd used it before, so after a little blog searching, I found my entry to the Freshly Made Sketches 100th challenge - here it is from August 23rd, 2013:

I haven't made any Christmas cards for a little while, so I whipped up four this weekend, using some old Bella Blvd papers in some lovely holiday pastels:

Freshly Made Sketches #362

I am YET AGAIN bringing out these Echo Park papers to make some Christmas cards... I still have a whole pile of it, so you'll be seeing it often.  Today I paired up the current Freshly Made Sketch with the Eskimo Kisses stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs:

I added a red and a white snowflake to each of them, and used a sentiment from an older CTMH set.

I'm playing along with a couple of challenges today, using this very fun Jen Hadfield paper called Patio Party.  Quick & simple is my thing these days as I build up my card stash:

 This one is using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches... I added some black zigzag stitching with my sewing machine, a few black pearls & popped up my sentiment with pop dots.

This  next one is just my own simple design, but I am playing along with the inspiration challenge #294 at Hand Stamped Sentiments (first time I've done this challenge!):

Freshly Made Sketches & Tim Holtz

I'm using some of the Tim Holtz Mini Blueprints today to make some birthday cards for my daughter's friends.  I had this cute "Patio Party" paper by Jen Hadfield, and used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch to kick start my design:

Verve Inspiration challenge

I am happy that the Verve Inspiration challenge is back!  It's been on hiatus for a while, and though I didn't always get to play along, I followed it religiously every month in the past.  So tonight I decided to play with my oxide inks, and was inspired to use the Freshly Made Sketch for my design.  I went with a couple of different greens, and started out with white mugs like the inspiration photo, but ended up painting them to give them a little more life:

Masculine cards

I've got a couple of masculine cards to share today, for several challenges that have closed!  Just couldn't quite get them photographed in time.  Oh well, I'm sharing them anyway :o)  Both are using the older Marjolaine papers from Basic Grey, and the Happy Thoughts stamp set from Verve.  *I am in time for The Paper Players colour challenge, though!  Scroll down to see the combo at the bottom of my post.  Here is one that was for the Fusion Sketch Challenge:

Freshly Made Sketches & some new Verve

I received some new (to me!) Verve stamps just before Christmas, and got a chance to play with them this week.  I am using the current Freshly Made Sketch & my favourite Lawn Fawn plaids:

 I tried to do a bit of an ombre effect with my inks... and it worked fairly well using my Misti.  I did three different versions!

Patterned papers are Perfectly Plaid by Lawn Fawn.  Stamp set and dies are Verve; Copic markers; Inks are Creme Brulee, Smoothie & Cotton Candy by Close To My Heart; Cardstock is White, Sunflower & Crystal Blue, also CTMH.

Freshly Made & Inspired By

I'm playing with a couple of challenges today, as I needed a card for my niece's birthday later this week.  I've used the Freshly Made Sketch for this week, along with the inspiration photo from Inspired By All The Little Things (love this!):

Salted Caramel Wishes

So excited to be playing along with a couple of challenges today!  I am using the Freshly Made Sketch #307, and the inspiration from the Curtain Call challenge.  It's also the first chance that I've had to use the newest digital stamp set from Verve... so here's what I've come up with:

I pulled out some Lawn Fawn plaids and their Knock on Wood paper for my background, and I grabbed my Banner Bundle and Sprightly Sprigs dies from Verve to add as well.

A quick Christmas card tonight - I love the new Freshly Made Sketch, so many ways to interpret it!  I used some new (to me!) Echo Park papers and an old CTMH stamp... along with my new stitched snowflake dies from Memory Box, which I've been dying to use:

Can you tell that I'm on vacation??  Three posts in a week - it's heavenly to have some cardmaking time that is simply for me, so I decided to play along with this week's Freshly Made Sketch, and made a birthday card for my sister.  I used the gorgeous Heart of Home papers by Jen Hadfield (love these colours!) along with a background flower from Verve's Simply Amazing set that I coloured with pink Tombow markers and spritzed with water before stamping on my circle.  I overstamped the flower with a Close To My Heart sentiment.  A little stitching in a soft grey thread, some sequins and done.
