The cutest owls!!

Happy Monday, everyone!  I'm going to do a few posts this week, featuring the cutest new owl stamps from the new High Hopes release.  If you're impatient and want to see them all at once - check out my April 8th post on the One Crazy Stamper blog where I show all six of them!  And if you stopped by the booth at Scrapfest in Kitchener this weekend, you would've seen them all live.  Here are the first two:
These are so fun and quick to colour... and the best thing, is that there are accessory stamps that you can purchase to dress up your owls if you so desire!  So for the card on the left, I've added the birthday hat and balloons.  There is also a bow tie, hair bow, branch, tree stump and spectacles (stay tuned and I'll show you the rest, this week).
For this little guy, (Waving Owl) I got on Pinterest and searched how to colour balloons with Copic markers, as I wanted to achieve that transparent look.  For a first effort, I'm fairly happy with how they turned out.
This is Happy Owl - I fussy cut him out, and popped him up on some pop dots along with the sentiment.  Oh, and did I mention that there are a whole bunch of "owlish" sentiments that go with the images??  Check out the High Hopes stamp section on the One Crazy Stamper website, and you'll find the entire new HH release.  And if you use SVG files - you can get them for each of the new images!  I'll be back later this week with my next two owls :o)

Add a Brad challenge

The Art Impressions Design Team are helping to launch two brand new stamp & die sets on the Art Impressions blog today!  These are the COOLEST little Swiss Army knife die sets - a his and a hers.  You won't believe some of the amazing projects that the DT has to share today (they raised the bar!) so I came up with a little flannel cowgirl shirt with a stitched pocket to hold the new die cut knife.  Here is Utility Die Set Hers (Sku #4751):
It doesn't show up too well in the photo, but I used my sewing machine to add some decorative stitching to the pocket, then stitched it onto the shirt; and I stitched along the edge of the collar & placket.  I sewed a couple of buttons down the front, and added a kerchief square to the pocket.  I even put a little flesh coloured cardstock in the neckline, to make it look like skin tone!
And here is the knife all put together, and tossed into the pocket - this is how the recipient would receive the card.  Below are all the die cut pieces that come in the set - and you can see that there is a small sentiment for each of them:
Assembly is quick and easy, since each piece is die cut with a hole, and you simply thread a brad through three pieces on each end, and you're done.

Our current challenge is called "Add a brad" - so be sure to link up your creation over on the Ai blog, there are always fabulous prizes to be won.

Puppy Wonder

I hope you enjoyed seeing all the newly released High Hopes stamps on the One Crazy Stamper blog yesterday!  I have the sweetest little pup to share with you today, here is another one of the new HH releases: Puppy Wonder SS012:
I coloured him with my Copic markers on some Xpress It Blending cardstock, made a simple background with some Echo Park papers, and did a little stitching with my sewing machine.  The OCS team will be sharing the new release with you all month long, so you'll want to visit us often!

Brand new High Hopes & OCS challenge

Both the High Hopes Stamps and One Crazy Stamper design teams are helping to launch the brand new Spring 2016 High Hopes collection on the company blogs today!  It's a really fun selection of images, great sentiments and the cutest little owls with some fun accessories.  I'm sharing the very fun "Shake Your Booty UU001":
This is a treat for me to be using this stamp set today, because I got to name it!!  The design teams had a fun contest a few months ago, and all submitted possible names - and Shake Your Booty won.  The sentiment is Get Your Happy On HH018.  Here is a close up of the ladies:
Today also marks a new month on the OCS blog, so we are starting our April challenge, which is anything goes - you can link up your creation at the bottom of todays post, and while you're there, have a look at what the rest of the design team has to share with the great new release!  I'll be back tomorrow with another HH card.

Window Deco Die

I am sharing a card using a Windows to the World stamp from Art Impressions called Day Spent Window (Sku #4584) paired up with the brand new Window Deco Die (Sku #4749):
The Window Deco Die set actually comes with four dies, and two stamps, and I am just using the curtain and valance stamps on my card today.  I stamped them both on some patterned paper, and used some pencil crayons to add a bit of shading to the folds of the fabric.  I used the Window Die (Sku #4619) to die cut the window panes so that you can peek through to the stamp on the inside of the card.
The sentiment is a favourite of mine, from the Garden TF Set (Sku #4203).  Here is what the inside looks like:
Copics used - B28, B24, B23, B21, G46, G43, G41, YG07, YG05, YG03, YG01, R35, R32, R30, E57, E55, E53, W5, W3, W1, W00

Inspired By All The Little Things #8

There is another challenge up on the Inspired By All The Little Things challenge blog... with Tracey McNeely as our hostess this week.  She picked a lovely bouquet as her inspiration piece, so I picked up one of my Art Impressions Watercolor Minis sets and painted the flowers using the colours in the photo:
The colours are a little weird in the photo - they're a bit prettier in real life, not so neon looking!  Here was our inspiration:
