Art Impressions at Michaels

There are four new holiday Ai sets available right now in Michaels stores... and the Design Team are all sharing projects today.  I am featuring SC0799 or the "Ugly Sweater Gal" as I like to call her:

 I coloured her up with my Copic markers... and decided that she deserved a little shimmer, so I added my gold Wink of Stella pen to all of the jingle bells and the star.  I used some metallic gold thread to zigzag a little decoration on my card as well.  There are a bunch of cute holiday sentiments included in the set, and I chose "Don we now our Ugly Sweaters!" which I adhered with pop dots.

White Space is Nice Space Challenge

It's my feature today on the Ai blog, we are showcasing the two new acrylic stamp sets available at Michaels through Hampton Art.  Our challenge is "White Space is Nice Space" so we want to see your CAS creations.  Here's my effort using SC0794:

 CAS is not the easiest cardmaking style for me!  I love pattern & colour, so I have to work a little harder to have white space on my cards :o)  I opted to make a 6" square card, as I needed that extra bit of white space around the frame to balance out the card.  I popped up the image and the "best" banner to give the card a little dimension:

 The set also includes a cupcake, and three sentiments, so here's what the inside of my card looks like:

 I added a few enamel dots to the lower part of the card to balance things out a bit better.

Mojo Monday #473

Mojo Monday has a great sketch to use for Christmas cards this week, so I pulled out some Ai penguins that I had coloured a few weeks ago, and made up two of these little guys:

Patterned paper is Comfort & Joy by My Mind's Eye; Cardstock is New England Ivy & Black by CTMH; Stamp sets are Glad Tidings by Verve & Art Impressions; Snowflakes are Let It Snowflake by My Favorite Things and Snowflake Dies by Art Impressions; Copic Markers.

Art Impressions Holiday sets

The Art Impressions Design Team are all showcasing the holiday stamp sets that are available in Michaels and AC Moores stores this fall!  These are the cutest little sets that include matching dies to make putting together projects quick & easy.  Here is Fright Night (Sku # SC0735):

 Isn't he cute??  He comes with two sentiments, and owl, cat and witches hat, and the matching die that works for all three larger images.  Now here are the two penguins from Snow Much Fun (Sku #SC0736):

 I sponged some distress ink onto white stitched banners that I turned into little tags, and popped up the penguins overtop.  The snowflake and die also come in the set, with the two penguins and two sentiments.  You can't see in the photos, but I added some Stickles to the snowflakes, so they're actually quite sparkly.

Beach Babes

I have exciting news for you - while I was getting today's card ready to post, I got an email from Kate telling us that the clear sets that up until now have been available exclusively at Michaels and Hobby Lobby - are going to be available on the Ai website as of this Thursday!!  This is exciting news for International crafters, or those of you who may not be near a Michaels or Hobby Lobby store!  Be sure to check out the website this Thursday the 25th to see all of these amazing sets you'll want to scoop up!  And now, back to our regularly scheduled post...
 Summer really is marching right along, isn't it?  So while the weather is still lovely & warm... I wanted a chance to use Art Impressions Beach Babes (SC0653) clear acrylic set that is available through Hampton Art at Michael's stores.  I've used two of the three images and one of the five sentiments that come in the set:

 I just love this high-maintenance gal...  I added some Star Dust Stickles to the bling on her finger, and used pop dots under the sun & sentiment.  She's coloured with Copic markers, and I added the suggestion of blue sky around her, and sand under her beach chair.  Happy stamping!

Got Style?

Hello Ai fans!

I'm using another of the wonderful stamps that are available at Michael's through Hampton Art - SC0678:

 I had fun paper piecing their outfits... I had to pull out my Exacto knife to cut out the hand on the middle gal!  I just adore their hats and poses - there's a little bit of style & attitude going on here :o)

 The set comes with two images and seven sentiments, so here's the one I put on the inside:

Get Well cards

I have a couple of cards that I made for my brother-in-laws recently, using the new Art Impressions Get Well set of clear stamps available at Michaels stores this spring.  I really love the cute guy image, and all the fun sayings that are included with the set.  I used the same card design, and just switched up the papers:
