25 Days of Christmas Tags
Tracey McNeely puts on a fabulous event on her blog every November... "25 Days of Christmas Tags", with all kinds of wonderful inspiration... and encouragement to play along. I was inspired by Tracey's pretty purple ink blended tags with white embossed snowflakes on Day One, and decided to make a whole bunch of my own:
And here is my blue/green version:
I used a pretty Pearl embossing powder from WOW, using three larger snowflakes, and then filled in the empty spaces with a couple of smaller flakes:
Here is my blue/purple strip... I started out trying a few different purple ink blends... and settled on a blue/purple mix of three colours sponged randomly on my strip of paper. Even though I wasn't thrilled with the colours that I started out with, they ended up being really gorgeous tags:And here is my blue/green version:
The strips were 3 1/2" x 12", and I cut them each into 6 pieces... to end up with 12!
Each piece was mounted to a slightly larger piece of grey cardstock, and I added the sentiment with some pop dots. I'm not sure what I'll do yet about twine or ribbon... so am just leaving them like this for now.Friday, November 2, 2018
Santa's Sleigh from Colourific
Today I'm so excited to be sharing the new Colourific holiday stamps! You can find the entire selection on the Colourific website here... but I am using Santa's Sleigh today:
When I'm colouring images with my Copic markers, the starting point is always my patterned paper. I picked this coordinating pack from Echo Park, and pulled out the colours to use on my images. I used a subtle dusty aqua snowflake pattern as my sky, and die cut a snowy hillside, adding a few die cut snowflakes randomly as well. After colouring the sleigh, bear & gifts, I fussy cut them all out, and glued them together so that they appear to be stacked in the sleigh. I attached pop dots all over the back of the image to attach it to my base, and did the same to my sentiment.
This Santa is such a cute, happy guy - I just love him! All of the images were stamped separately, coloured with Copics and fussy cut out. Like my first card, I created an evening sky, then some snowy banks, and attached both Santa and the sentiment with pop dots. I glued the toys behind the sack, and attached it all to the base. You can check out all the newest stamps on the Colourific site, and get them ordered asap to get going on your holiday cards. Happy stamping!

Ai Lots of Layers Challenge
I am sharing a couple of cards that I made for Art Impressions to take to the Mixed Media show this past summer when they launched their latest collection. They have just released their 2018 Christmas stamps on their website - you can find them all here. Today I'm using Sleigh Bells Set (Sku #5040) along with Echo Park's I Love Winter papers:
The current challenge on the Art Impressions blog is "Lots of Layers"... and I never have a problem doing that!

Six simple Thank-You's
My daughter asked me to make a group of thank you cards for her, and they needed to be both male & female friendly. I recently bought these Moda Scraps papers with wonderful tiny fall patterns on them, and thought they'd work well for the season & occasion. I also pulled out my Waterfront stamp set for the first time - I've been dying to use this!
I added a little Maya Road twine, and a Verve sentiment, and attached them with pop dots:

Mix It Up Challenge #48
I am playing along with the Sugar Pea Designs October Mix It Up Challenge #48 today. I got this sweet "Eskimo Kisses" stamp set this summer, and already have a whole whack of images stamped and coloured! So you'll be seeing more than a few of these little penguins over the coming weeks. I went with the sketch side of the inspiration, and just tweeked the sentiment position a little, as I liked it better centered:
Patterned papers are I Love Winter by Echo Park; Stamp set is Eskimo Kisses by Sugar Pea Design; Stitched Alpine Snowflake dies are Poppy Stamps; Copic Markers.
