Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #300!

I was so happy that Michelle asked me to be a guest designer for the 300th challenge (wow!) for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog this week.  There are a whole bunch of guests joining the team this week, so I hope you'll join us and play along.  Here's what I've come up with:
Now, if you scroll down and take a peek at our sketch... you'll see that it has quite a lot going on.  My normal go-to is a bunch of coordinating patterned paper, but for some reason I decided to make it a mostly one-layer card, and I represented all of the shapes with stamps.  Once I picked which stamps I wanted to use, I decided to make it a rainbow effect.
I started by blending four colours of Distress Oxide inks lightly into the top and bottom corners, and then stamped over them with the polka dots in dye based inks.  I added the sketchy circles to represent the circles on the sketch, and sprinkled on a rainbow of sequins in lieu of the flowers.  I stamped the Hello sentiment inside the red circles, then matted it with black and adhered it to the base with pop dots.  I have a small arrow die, and almost adhered a little black one onto the card, but decided that with my rainbow colours, it was busy enough!
Stamp sets used: Better Together by Verve; Hello and Doodled Designs by Close To My Heart; Inks are Black Oxide by Versafine; Pear, Creme Brulee, Sunset, Tulip, Gypsy & Sapphire by Close To My Heart; Mowed Lawn, Honey, Wilted Violet & Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks by Ranger.  Black and White Daisy cardstock by Close To My Heart.

Guest Designer for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Two Guest Designer spots in one day?!  Lucky me :o)  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a new sketch for you every Monday - and this one had an interesting background texture!  I initially wanted to do the background with an embossing folder to emulate the star pattern on the sketch, but I ended up interperetting it as patterned paper:

Patterned papers are Peppermint Collection, Crate Pape;, Cardstock is Pacifica & Colonial White, CTMH; Stamp set is Vintage Ornaments, Waltzingmouse Stamps; Ink is Pacifica, CTMH; Spellbinders Ornament

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Happy World Card Making Day!  I haven't played along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge in a little while, so I was glad to finally make it happen this week!  I am trying to build up my Christmas card stash whenever possible, so I pulled out the new CTMH Snowhaven papers and last year's WOTG stamp set to make up two slightly different cards:

For this one, I just added a few red sparkles and the new silver adhesive sequins from CTMH.

And this one got a few sequins and some twine.  Here was our sketch:
Patterned papers are Snowhaven & Dakota; Cardstock is Slate & Glacier; Ink is Whisper; Stamp set is Frosted Cardmaking WOTG; Silver sequins & Red sparkles - all Close To My Heart; American Crafts twine.

Atlantic Hearts Challenge

I've had this little hello coloured and sitting on my desk for a while now, and when I saw this week's sketch at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, I knew it would work nicely.  So just a quick and easy card tonight, using some pretty CTMH papers that are retired:

Atlantic Hearts Challenge #32

I'm playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Challenge this week, with the Frosted WOTG stamp set, and the Sparkle & Shine paper pack:
I was trying hard to incorporate juniper into the card somehow (that's the minty green that you see in the polka dot paper)... I tried second generation snowflakes behind the sentiment, but it was way too busy.  I used to own juniper grosgrain ribbon, but not any longer, so I couldn't add any ribbon.  Anyhow, I decided that plain was best for now - any suggestions?
Patterned papers are Sparkle & Shine, Cardstock is Slate, Ruby & White Daisy; Ink is Slate; Stamp set is Frosted Workshop on the Go - all Close To My Heart.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #27

I stumbled upon this great new (to me!) sketch challenge yesterday, and immediately wanted to play!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has lovely sketches that come out on Mondays, and a wonderful design team that posts on Wednesdays.  This is my first time cutting into CTMH's holiday Sparkle & Shine papers, and it is also (gasp!) the first time that I've ever used Ruby??  It really is a lovely holiday red, so is on my list to add to my order today:
The stamped images look a little pale in the photo, they're a bit darker in real life.  The deer are stamped in Whisper, the sentiment in Slate, and the swirly snow in Heavenly Blue.  I wanted to pick up the pale blue a little more, so the zigzag stitching is blue also - hard to see, though.  I added chunky glitter to the snowflakes and swirls for a little extra sparkle.  Here was our sketch:
Patterned papers are Sparkle & Shine; Cardstock is Slate, Ruby & White Daisy; Inks are Slate, Whisper & Heavenly Blue; Stamp sets are Nature's Gift, Snow Flurries & Peace on Earth; -all Close To My Heart; Martha Stewart punch; Baker's Twine, The Twinery.
